    • Sandra - Verified booking

Date of stay 18-08-2023 to 25-08-2023 This is an excellent barn conversion into a cosy 1 bedroomed cottage for two people.

The fixtures and fittings are of a high quality, and everything you could need is supplied. Lovely thick bath towels are supplied, so there is no need to bring your own. The shower is perfect and large with good water pressure and stable temperature. The bedroom is compact, but there is a double bed, a good-sized chest of drawers and a hanging rail with 8 coat hangers, and a bedside table on either side of the bed. There is very little space between the bottom of the bed and the wall, we are not large people so not a problem for us. The bed was very comfy. Don't worry if you forget your teabags, coffee, sugar, washing up liquid, J-cloth etc... there is some supplied to get you started. Other cleaning products and equipment also supplied. The owner had left milk and biscuits for our arrival very much appreciated thank you. This cottage is in a good position for visiting lots of the local heritage sites and beaches. We need to go back to continue with our adventures in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Robin's Nest is well equipped, clean and comfortable.

It was cold during our stay, but the central heating kept us cosy and there was everything we needed to cook meals in plus information about local pubs, restaurants and shops if we wanted to eat out. Lots of walks, bike rides and tourist information included. One of the walks Alan suggested in the dry valleys of the Wolds was the highlight of our stay and we were blessed with glorious sunshine in November. We did have a bit of difficulty finding Robin's Nest when we arrived, but Alan also said he had asked Sykes to clarify the directions on the listing, but this had not happened. If you approach from Leven it is the first entrance on the RHS after a slight LH bend with a fiingerpost and a layby on the LHS. You don't actually go as far as the first signs for Brandesburton and if you get to the Blue Rose Country Park you have missed it.

Property was fantastic - we had an amazing time and the owners were super helpful.

The property has been done to an extremely high standard and had everything we needed. The setting was incredible. Bed and furniture were extremely comfortable. One thing to note and one ask: the hot tub was heated by a wood-fired stove (takes 1-3 hours to heat up) which was fun - but my wife said she wouldn’t want to do that on her own (the owners do offer their support). The towels were lovely, but the big towels (1 each) were too small for a 5* property with a hot tub. Would be great to either get some bigger ones, or have 2 each, in the future. A final tip: I’m sure this is obvious - but bring a bathrobe for the hot tub (we didn’t expect them to be provided, but one we took with us was really handy for hot tub).

This was a perfect cottage for a couple.

There was everything you might need, even down to maps of the area, the welcome pack was particularly useful. It is tastefully decorated with a comfortable and spacious bedroom and living area. The kitchen is lovely, there is no washing machine but the owners will allow you to use theirs. The bathroom is excellent, even with toiletries provided. This was a spotlessly clean cottage. Parking was easy, the pub just across the road, and the shop a couple of minutes walk away. The food in the pub is good and the staff friendly. We liked Hornsea and got some excellent but not cheap fish and chips from the Seafront Chip Shop. Our hosts were lovely, it is reassuring that they are close by. We simply loved the place and will be back!

Loved the location and the quietness of the garden.

Parking is fine for two small cars and off the road. Really comfy and warm especially in the stormy weather. Well equipped for everything and our dog loved the garden. Just need to focus on fixing the side door as this was a problem on the holiday (easy to contact the owner and explained it was stiff). Tided in without having access to the front door made me feel uneasy. More information in the guidebook would be useful such as what bins to use for rubbish/recycle.I am sure overtime guests will add to the book also for walks etc. Survived without wi fi and went to the local charity shop for some DVDS. We look forward to another stay as overall its a lovely place to stay and see the area also.
