"We were a group of six, two couples and our young adult children who stayed at this lovely cottage over Christmas. We were touched that the owners had taken the trouble to have a Christmas tree and decorations put up for us. The cottage was warm and clean and I loved the powerful hot showers. One of the main reasons for booking here was that they had a hot tub. We thought the kids especially , would enjoy spending time in it. That turned out to be a real disappointment . Being a wood fired hot tub, it takes more than two days to heat and a LOT of wood. We eventually managed to get it up to lukewarm and sat in it for about 15 mins before it started to cool rapidly again. The hot tub probably works well in warmer weather but in the winter, I don't think they should even suggest that the tub be used. The time and energy that went into getting the tub heated was just not worth the effort and now, three months after our stay, that is still a niggling memory. I emailed the owners about it and they replied that they would be making some improvements. The cottage is walking distance from the coastal path. We were able to fit in some fabulous walks. The other thing I found really odd was that there was no tea pot! Apparently, guests frequently break the tea pots so they stopped stocking them. Making six individual cups of tea was a pain. We bought a metal tea pot and left it there. For the price of the rental, I would think frequent replacement of something like a tea pot shouldn't be a big deal. In short, it is a lovely cottage and I would recommend it- but know that wood fired hot tubs and winter don't match up. Their prices ought to reflect that too. Another thing that I found rather"

"We were a party of 6 staying for a week. This cottage provided us with the chance to have a much needed break as a family and we were not disappointed. The cottage is clean and kept in immaculate condition. The kitchen is excellently equipped, it contained everything we needed and the owners added small extras in such as biscuits and drinks on arrival and also some dishwasher tablets which we had not thought to bring. The property is spacious and there are various books, dvds and games provided which we all enjoyed playing. The owners have also provided plenty of information on local sights to see/experience. The garden is perfect for children to explore and there are buckets and spades and fishing nets which the were able to use. All these small extras really make this feel like a home. The hot tub was a great source of excitement for the children. It does take time to heat up but it is worth the wait, we had great fun splashing about. We were a bit worried about the heating process but the owners directed us to a YouTube video which clearly shows you how to safely heat the hot tub. The beach at Red Wharf Bay is a short walk away and the cottage is located in beautiful surroundings, very peaceful and relaxing. All the locals are friendly and helpful and we felt very welcome. We did waste a bit too much time grocery shopping. A hassle free tip from the owner is to book a Tesco shop and have it delivered to the cottage at your convenience. All in all we had a wonderful holiday in what I would say feels very much like a home rather than a rented cottage. Would not hesitate to recommend this to others."

"We liked the fact that it was quiet and peaceful and in a good location, it was comfortable enough, but it would have benefitted from having another shower in the bathroom, which is more than big enough, because only having it available in the ensuite meant that you were waiting for people to get up and then queueing for the shower, I find getting in and out of a bath difficult so that was not an option! The other downsides were the tv - we found it very difficult to get it going at the start and the screen was far too small, it was more like a bedroom tv, and because there was no wi-fi it was a bit of a let down that the tv wasn't very good either! A hand book for the cottage would have been useful as it was only after we had been there for a few days that we found some papers stuck beside the microwave that told us where to put the rubbish- too late in our case as I think I may have used the wrong bin! We also had difficulty in locating the cottage initially as the entrance is signposted as Blackhorse cottages, yet nowhere on the directions does it mention that! Some information on what there is to do locally would have also been nice."

"This is our second visit to this lovely cottage which is well equipped and has plenty of space to accommodate our three generation family which ranges from a 2 year old and parents (family room), us the grandparents (master bedroom/en-suite) and a 94 year old great grandparent (downstairs bedroom and main bathroom) and also two border collies!. There is a lovely safe deck which is a suntrap and ideal for small child to play on with her best friends, the dogs. The table and chairs on the deck overlook a lovely stretch of garden with a beautiful view over to mainland mountains. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful without being intrusive and the area is peacefully quiet just off the main tourist roads. It has easy access by car and is 10 minutes to Red Wharf and Benllech Bays and to Beaumaris. We would not hesitate to recommend this comfortable and spacious cottage and will certainly be booking a stay there again."

"We've just returned from a week's stay, a couple, adult daughter with toddler, my elderly mother and our dog. It was chosen partly for the downstairs bedroom and bathroom, and was perfect for us. Clean, comfortable (I slept so well!), well equipped. I'd also liked the look of the play equipment, but as they are round the back of the other cottages it felt a bit intrusive going there - though there's so much to do within a short drive, even in poor weather, that the play equipment was never required! As others have said, a gift of eggs, milk, tea and coffee when you arrive is a lovely start to the holiday. One minor point with the directions - it mentions a right turn after 2.7 miles that's signposted - the distance is spot on, but no signpost. Other than that, very easy to find."
