What to do on Abersoch cottage holidays

Abersoch's beautiful coastline is a huge draw for holidaymakers and the surrounding waters are internationally recognised as great for sailing. Throughout the year there are lots of sailing events, including the Raft Race and Abersoch Triple Crown. There's plenty for amateur sailing enthusiasts to enjoy too, and if you prefer being in the water rather than just on it, why not try power boarding, paddle boarding, surfing, or windsurfing?

There are some great little beaches in the area, including Abersoch Main Beach and Porth Neigwl, which roughly translates as 'Hell's Mouth' and is a popular spot with surfers. Away from the beaches, you'll also find a selection of great restaurants and shops, in fact, everything you'd expect from a popular seaside resort. Plas Glyn y Weddw is one of the top tourist attractions in the area, a modern art gallery housed in a magnificent Gothic mansion and well worth a visit after a heavenly day spent on the beach.

Get away from it all and enjoy a rejuvenating trip to Abersoch, one of the most picturesque and tranquil parts of Wales. Make your holiday really special and choose one of the amazing holiday cottages in Abersoch, full of charm and character and ideal for family trips or romantic soirees.

What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mrs Oakden - Verified booking

If all facilities in the property were in full working order, this property would be good value for money. However, there were many items which did not work and could not be resolved by the owner within our stay. On arrival we found a bin bag full of rubbish had been left on the front door step. We then couldn't use the blinds in the kitchen/ diner to make the back of the house private (they were locked in the blind up position). The blinds were unusable and whilst trying to move one it actually came down and we decided to just leave it on the floor for about 4 days until we left when we put it back up. We then found that the smart TV in the lounge would not operate with a wireless connection and had to trail a wire diagonally across the lounge floor from the TV to the router to be able to watch smart TV services. The bathroom towel radiator was broken, electric fire in the kitchen broken and kickboard heater in the kitchen was broken. The property owner did arrange for an electrician to visit on the Monday, but he advised none of the items could be fixed until a week later, after we had left. This meant certain parts of the property were very cold during a November week away and we had to rely heavily on the woodburning stove for warmth. The fire tool holder was also broken. Two doors in the property did not open and shut easily (lounge and twin bedroom). They caught on the carpet and had to be forced to move, they need the bottom planed by a carpenter. The property owner did come out promptly the next day (Saturday) when we alerted her to these issues, and she resolved the TV wireless connection promptly by purchasing a ROKU device the same day. However all other issues remained for the duration of our stay. We feel we deserve some compensation as this is quite an extensive list of issues which if we had known about, would have meant we wouldn't have booked this property. Two broken heaters and unusable blinds in kitchen, broken towel radiator in bathroom, doors that do not move as they should, are major things that are unacceptable.

      A lovely and attractive property.

Crockery, cutlery and equipment was very well provided although I was disappointed with the condition of the non stick frying pans and baking dishes. I suspect that they had been previously ill treated but I was put off from using them. I couldn’t find a potato peeler! There is no heating on the upper floor but although the weather was cold and wet we were never cold. However, it was not easy to dry towels as there is no heated towel rail. We made a makeshift rack in the airing cupboard using the loose rails that were there! The bed on the top floor was a bit strange as it had two mattresses which kept sliding. We also found the 15 Tog quilt very warm. I think people need to be aware that the ceiling in this room slopes rather a lot on one side of the bed. I am only 5ft 1 inch tall but had to bend over almost double to get into bed or get clothing from the bedside drawers and this problem was exacerbated by the thickness of the mattress. We think an extractor in the bathroom on the upper floor would be really good. Freeing up a cupboard in the kitchen for dry food would be a good idea. Perhaps glasses could be stored in the bookcase/cupboard in the dining area. The fire extinguisher and blanket should really be fixed to the wall for easy access in the event of a fire. Despite my comments above, we did enjoy our stay at the property and would definitely consider staying again when visiting relatives. It is conveniently situated for walking into Abersoch. Unfortunately the weather was not on our side to do that.

This property was everything we asked for and more .

. there were 4 generations of our family on this 4 day break and it ticked every box for all .. the communal space was the perfect space for us to spend our feet up time together .. the sofa was so comfortable and the added bonus of blankets made it really cosy .. sadly the weather wasn’t on our side so eating outside ( fabulous space ) or coffee /drinks on the balcony weren’t an option The house was immaculately clean and everything had been thought of for our stay We have been coming to Abersoch for 55 years and always had our own caravan this was the first time we have stayed in accommodation there The location is perfect Great house great location .. fingers crossed better weather next time The Smiths

Water pressure was very poor. The shower was poor. No toilet brush in the property. Told that there was no washing machine at property but there was. Communication kackin.Needs tumble dryer, as no real drying facilities. Double glazed unit seal has gone. Misted window. Kitchen poorly serviced, lack of utensils and crockery appeared to be a mix of items. Only one serving dish. Which was just a salad/ trifle bowl. No full size dinner plates. Immersion heater was noisy as if airlock in system. Switched it off after hearing banging noise! Unfortunately for the money we paid, we would not stay at this property again as we believe it was overpriced for what we got. Location is excellent, and the property was reasonably clean.

    • Mrs Maytum - Verified booking

The cottage was not very clean (dirty floors, mold on bathroom blind, cobwebs, outside furniture dirty, etc ). The second bedroom towels were only big enough fir children and there was too few pillows. The welcome pack was poor as it was so mean and was certainly not enough for a stay of a week. There was no washing up bowl and the kitchen sink plug didn't work so we had to use the dishwasher. There were only 3 dishwasher tablets supplied. Generally poorly maintained, eg gas hob had 2 broken off knobs, doors stiff and difficult to close, key safe was a nightmare to use. Not enough comfortable seats. Totally overpriced.
