    Moelfre Holiday Cottages

Moelfre is a picturesque historic fishing village on the northeast coast of the Isle of Anglesey in Wales. The harbour may not be as busy with fishing boats as it once was, but it is still a stunning place to explore and soak up the coastal atmosphere. If you are interested in history, you can also visit the ancient ruins of Iron Age sites, including the remains of six hut groups as well as the 12th-century ruin of Capel Lligwy.

The best way to enjoy the charm and beauty of Wales is to stay in an equally lovely holiday cottage. We have cosy cabins with secluded hot tubs and crackling log fires, as well as bright, spacious barn conversations for big groups. Looking for a family holiday? Our open-plan farmhouses are great for families, with many of them also being dog-friendly properties. Travellers seeking extra privacy can choose from cottages with pretty, private gardens, and keen walkers can stay in properties that sit right on the edge of popular walking routes.

Here at Snaptrip, we list thousands of UK holiday cottages which are all backed by our best price guarantee. We also have search filters and our friendly customer service team to help you find the perfect property to suit your needs. Want to enjoy the stunning Anglesey Coastal path, or treat yourself to local seafood in Moelfre? Book with us for a great holiday cottage.

What our customers say about their holidays

    • David - Verified booking

This was a beautiful house in a stunning location.

It was comfortable, spacious and we felt at home. There were no issues which detracted from our holiday but some matters we would like the owners to be aware of. Some maintenance points: Considerable leak on the bath tap in the family bathroom. Some loose and missing grout in the tiled floor of the ensuite bathroom. Batteries in the Hive thermostat showing as "red" Dishwasher does not release tablet from the dispenser. Some facility points: No readily accessible hooks for wet coats (necessary given the outdoor nature of the location and Welsh weather!) A coat stand would be a useful addition. Imbalance in crockery and cutlery, for example many glasses and small coffee cups, less full size mugs. Insufficient crockery and cutlery to efficiently use the dishwasher as it was not possible to accumulate dishes in the washer and have enough to use. All of these points are easily resolved and we would not in any way wish to detract from the overall quality of the house and the excellent holiday we had there.

Our second time staying at Isfryn.

Really enjoyed our stay. Glad to see the slightly rotten patio has been replaced with a nice new composite one. Lovely house, very clean. It's in a remote location with incredible views and so peaceful Only two things I could say need to be looked at. Firstly a gate needs to be installed across the entrance to the cess pit area just to stop nosey dogs or children going in. The dishwasher tablet dispenser doesn't work.poperly but I got around that by just placing the tablet at the bottom of the washer before starting it. The lane to.the house as other have said needs to mentioned. If you have a low car it's needs to driven down with a great deal of caution. My Alfo Mito had few scrapes before we learned how to navigate it. Any MPV should be fine. Overall though we would love to stay again in the future.

We had a fabulous stay at Tyn y Graig.

This beautiful, cosy cottage is tastefully decorated and stylishly presented with good quality furnishings which somehow manage to be modern and comfortable yet still fit with the character of the cottage. The hosts provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay plus lots of thoughtful little extras and were very responsive to our queries. The cottage is in a quiet picturesque location with a lovely country garden where we were lucky enough to see red squirrels and pheasants. We found the location perfect. It was quiet with the coastal village of Moelfre an easy walk away, and shops and some lovely beaches a short drive. We feel very lucky to have been the first guests at this impressive property. If you’re looking at it now don’t hesitate, just book it. It really is as good as it looks!

Isfryn is a really lovely property in a great position for attractions on both the island and the mainland.

The major drawback is the approach road which is in a dreadful state. Unless you have a 4x4 your car is likely to 'bottom' and it can't be doing tyre lifetime any good. The other drawback is that (as others have mentioned) there are several minor issues that could be fixed on a changeover day but haven't been. We left a note detailing 7 issues, the most serious of which was that we were unable to find oven gloves - H&S issue Sykes. The vacuum was hopeless and poored 'wet dog' smell into the room rather than picking up. The sink in the en-suite bedroom drains very slowly. If these were all fixed then Isfryn would be a 5 star property every time. If you have already booked, don't dismay - we had a great week and these issues are irritations rather than holiday spoilers.

This was our second stay in the property, which we really like and would highly recommend.

Despite this, there are some things that would have made our stay even better, as follows: 1. the cooker hood lights need to be replaced. Neither of them worked and there were no spare bulbs available. 2. the cooker hood fan needs to be checked - it was very noisy and I think it is faulty. It was unusable. 3. the soap dispenser on the dishwasher remains closed during the wash cycle, which means that the detergent is not released into the machine. 4. the kettle needs to be replaced because the lid is broken and potentially dangerous. 5. the frying pans and metal baking trays should be replaced because they are very old and scratched. 6. more cutlery would have been useful. 7. the fan in the ensuite bathroom was unusable - it seems to be on its last legs.
