About this property

Resting in the coastal location of Holyhead, Finnisterre is a downstairs apartment as part of the existing Porth y Felin Post Office in Holyhead, ideal for a couple looking to indulge in the countryside and coast of Anglesey. Park beside the property and unpack into this pleasant space, putting your feet up in the living/dining room as you take in the sunshine streaming through the patio doors and plan the day ahead of you. Here you can enjoy a romantic meal for two at the dining table or head out into the garden and enjoy a meal in the salty seaside air. The kitchen is small but has plenty of home-from-home amenities to assist in cooking, including a George Foreman grill and microwave. With homely décor and plenty of storage int tasteful furniture for all of your belongings, the double bedroom is a bubble of calm ideal for catching your rest and has an en-suite shower room where you can soak the sand from your hair. Holyhead is a fantastic location for your seaside adventure, with the property nestled right next to a post office and a pub, and there are many more tasty eateries available, as well as Holyhead Maratime Museum, Admiralty Arch and access to the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path. There is an abundance of stunning scenic walks through the local area which are easily reachable from the property, including South Stack, where there is a lighthouse perched on the rocks and RSPB café, Porth Dafarch beach, The Range and Penrhos Feilw Standing Stones. Anglesey has many more beautiful beaches, breath-taking walks and historic sites to visit, as well as a sea zoo and the opportunity to try out watersports and wild swimming. From Anglesey, visits to Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park can be had. All of this and so much more with a stay at Finnisterre.

The bustling town of Holyhead rests on the North West coast of the Isle of Anglesey, the largest town on the island and perhaps known best for being the main ferry port to Ireland. Steeped in history, the town boasts the remains of Roman town walls and forts, medieval burial chambers and stone village foundations. Explore the Breakwater Country Park, a former quarry, which offers designated walks through the grounds. The park is full of interesting wildlife, most notably the seals who visit the Holyhead coast, and outlines the amazing construction of the world's longest breakwater, some 1.8 miles, which today protects the harbour. Visit the colourful marina with its yachts and tall ships, or the town's maritime museum, with its tales of 100 shipwrecks in the vicinity. Day trips to Ireland can be enjoyed easily from here, with Dublin just 90 minutes away on the fast ferry. With spectacular cliff top walks over Holyhead Mountain, golden sandy beaches at the award winning Trearddur Bay and the Snowdonia National Park just a 20 minute drive away, this is a superb holiday location, at any time of the year.

Clean and tidy with a nice Lounge, Kitchen and Bedroom and Bathroom. The facilities were very good and Penny was very helpful to us.The seating and bed were very comfortable and the overall accommodation was very pleasant to stay in. The walk in shower was very good especailly for my wife who is disabled. A very good choice.
