About this property

Gwenallt is an original mill workers cottage dating from the 1700s.

The mill still stands in the field behind. It has been kept in character as much as possible. The multi-fuel burner is set in the original stone inglenook. Electric radiators also. Beamed ceilings low in places. There is a double room plus a single room for a third guest. Pretty private garden with mature weeping willow tree and table and chairs. TV/DVD player, microwave, toaster, oven, fridge, freezer, washing machine. With pubs only a short distance away, a leisurely afternoon can be spent here, plus there are also wonderful forest and coastal walks from the village, a cafe serving afternoon tea, the Anglesey Race Track is nearby. Just a short drive away are beautiful beaches at Llanddwyn, Aberffraw, and Cable Bay. Rhosneigr is also worthy of a visit. The Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path passes nearby and the kids will love the activities at Foel Farm Park and Anglesey Sea Zoo. A unique holiday experience.

Malltraeth is an area famed for its birdlife, which isn't surprising when you consider that the countryside surrounding this idyllic village is all part of a National Nature Reserve. Nearby you will find the ancient Newborough Forest, the Warren Sand Dunes and Malltraeth Pool, all of which add to the region's beauty. Close to this abundance of nature are a number of beaches.

Everything perfectly satisfactory, as expected, and thanks for the milk and cakes on arrival (again, as usual).

Random pictures and ornaments could do with a swap around. Could be a perfect little holiday home with some TLC. Beds very comfortable but the throw on the single bed was filthy so was removed. Layout of the cottage was just what we needed and the garden a perfect size, although path and steps needed weeding to make it easier to get to the bins. Couldn't get the central heating working despite a roaring fire but the electric heaters did the trick. Parking on the street outside is on a blind bend but there are plenty of safer places to park further down the road if needed. Overall an enjoyable enough stay in a perfect location to explore the island.

It's a great place to then explore Anglesey. Not a place if you rely on technology as no WiFi but suited us fine. Not sure on the accuracy of the distance to the nearest pub but we found it.
