About this property

Poppy’s Cottage is a charming, mid-terrace cottage sitting in the village centre of Aberffraw, Anglesey. Surrounded by picturesque scenery and just a minute's walk from the beach, Poppy’s Cottage is a romantic base for exploring Anglesey and the popular coastal path. Step inside the cottage, and you’ll be welcomed into a warm, open-plan living space. The wood-burning stove and TV create a homely atmosphere, perfect for those long winter evenings. Wander over to the kitchen, well-equipped with an oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and washing machine, so you can rustle up your favorite meals with ease. Gather around the dining area for a romantic dinner for two, or a spot of breakfast before a day of exploring the nearby countryside. When you’re ready to retire for the night, head upstairs to the double bedroom, complete with an en-suite cloakroom. Step into the bathroom and luxuriate in a hot shower, or rinse off after a day of adventure. Take time to enjoy the peace and serenity of the rear flagged patio, complete with furniture; here you can enjoy a glass of wine, or relax with a good book in the fresh air. There is a post office to pick up the essentials and a licensed tea room serving fresh breakfast, brunch, and more. Devote a day to discovering the area’s rich history, with the ancient burial mounds of the Bronze Age, the castle ruins of Aberffraw and the majestic Llys Rhosyr Royal Court. If you’re feeling adventurous, make use of the nearby cycle paths to explore the area or take a boat trip along the Menai Straights and out to sea. Why not wander down to Four Mile Bridge, or if you want to journey further afield, Beaumaris Castle on the North East of the island makes a lovely day out. The Trac Mon motor racing circuit track provides a dramatic setting with excellent spectator viewing for a day out. Choose Poppy’s Cottage for a wonderful break to Anglesey.

The historic, seaside village of Aberffraw, nestles serenely beside the banks of the tidal River Ffraw, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on the Heritage Coast of Anglesey. Holding an exalted place in Welsh history, this sleepy village, known as ‘the Land of the Prince of Wales', held the title of Capital of North Wales, between the 9th and 13th Centuries. Once an important port, the village now consists of the ancient Church of St Beuno, a picturesque packhorse bridge, tea rooms, Llys Llewelyn Cegin Bar, and a beautiful white sandy beach with stunning, panoramic views of Snowdonia. Explore nearby National Nature Reserve spots at Newborough Warren and Malltraeth Pool, surrounded by sweeping sand dunes and marshes, or enjoy a relaxing day on the award winning beach at Llanddwyn Island. The area is renowned for its fascinating birdlife and breathtaking coastal scenery, and with the renowned watersports centre at Rhosneigr situated just 4 miles away, this is the ideal location for a varied and enjoyable holiday.
