"A lovely first floor apartment, located about a 5 minute walk away from Wastwater. You need to phone the owner for key collection instructions a few days before your holiday. This was very straightforward and the owner is very helpful. The cottage was clean & comfortable, with good parking, excellent wifi, and in a great position to begin a number of walks directly from the door. Unless you plan to eat out at the pubs within driving distance, it’s best to bring all your food with you, but you can pick up provisions in Gosforth 6 miles away if necessary. The small shop on the NT campsite at Wasdale Head (3 miles away) also stocks basic provisions. Great walks up Scafell Pike, Yewbarrow, Whin Rigg, Illgill Head, S24587 and Seatallan, plus walks in the local woodland and on both sides of Wast Water kept us busy all week. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and would definitely return."

"The flat is in a great position for walkers, some of England's highest peaks are within walking distance (but a car to the dale head will knock 5 miles off the day). The cottage was very clean and sofas and beds comfortable. Bedding/towels of good quality. Bottled water (it was a very hot week) and starter tea/coffee/milk on arrival. Owner very willing to help when contacted. The kitchen area is smallish but very neat and ample. A freezer would be a benefit but space is limited in the fitted kitchen. The lake is a 1/2 mile walk, and pleasant to wander to after tea with a bottle (+insect repelant!) as the screes take the evening light. Shops and pubs etc are a fair car drive away, but do try the Gosforth bakery."

"The house could do with a thorough clean. On the face of it it looks clean, but it could do with furniture moving and vacuuming thoroughly and the kitchen given a good clean, the cupboard fronts were a bit greasy and dirty. The heating thermostat was not user friendly. I would replace it with a dial where you can turn the heating down or off. I am a woman of a certain age and found it awfully hot and had to turn radiators off, however as the thermostat was stuck on 21 degrees the boiler kept going trying to get the room up to 21. A terrible waste of gas. We have stopped as this property for many years snd the bathroom light switch is still in need of replacing. Having said all this we do love our stays."

"Had a great time in Keswick. S70343 is well equipped and a great base in Keswick. The only issues we had are:1. My elderly, but still mobile, father in law suggested that the hand rail on the stairs leading to the first floor should be on the other side and similar to the one on the second set of stairs. This would greatly help people with reduced mobility in getting up and down the stairs.2. The heating/water timer in the main bedroom on the 2nd floor was broken and constantly "on". It made a noise that made it difficult to sleep at night. This was replaced on the 5th day of our holiday after we reported it to the office. It would have been nice for it to have been sorted out sooner."

"Well equipped house in great location close to supermarket and bus station. Disappointed with cleanliness particularly the kitchen which I cleaned on arrival. Cutlery drawer had lots of dust & debris in it and cupboard doors were grubby. Thick dust on the edge of bedroom windows. Nevertheless the house was warm & comfortable. The bus service s excellent particularly during summer months from Easter to October and a car is not necessary. Shower was sometimes a bit temperamental and went cold unexpectedly. Think boiler required a service rather than just a safety check! However we would stay again."
