"We had a lovely new year at Wild Goose Cottage. 3 out of the 4 bedrooms are plenty large enough for travel cots and the beds were comfortable. The best area is the kitchen diner, very modern and plenty of room for 8 adults and 3 babies at the table. there's plenty of crockery, pots and pans and utensils. A very well stocked kitchen however only one oven shelf made it very difficult to cook for everyone so the owners could perhaps invest in another shelf to make this a lot easier for large groups to cook meals to enjoy at the cottage. It was great to have the utility area and downstairs toilet plus extra shower. The area was lovely. Very quiet, few nice pubs, cafes and shops. The living room was cosy and nice garden and balconies for use in better weather. The sofas are probably past their shelf life but other than that a nice space. There's a small unloading area outside the cottage but then you have to park your car in the town free car park. Not a major issue unless everyone arrives at once but something to mention as it's not on the spec. All in all we had a lovely time thank you."

"Fabulous cottage that was also very dog friendly. There is a large wood directly across the quiet road from the cottage which was excellent for dog walks and has an interesting Roman history having been used for quarrying the stone for Hadrian's Wall. The owner also had listed some excellent walks directly from the cottage which was very helpful. The cottage is very modern and beautifully appointed with a well equipped kitchen and a cosy wood burning stove although it was hardly necessary as the underfloor heating kept the whole cottage at a very pleasant temperature. There is a small gravelled outdoor area with seating at the back and a small enclosed grassed area directly across the quiet road. It is a 20 mins drive to the popular Hadrians Wall walks and about an hours drive into the main part of the Lakes, so handy for both areas. There is a dog friendly pub around the corner on the main road with friendly owners and good honest pub food and a good co-op just down the road also. All in all just what we were looking for this trip."

"Great farmhouse conversion into a 'farm' cottage with comfortable and good-sized bedrooms. Number of en-suites and separate bathroom great for families. Very well designed and equipped kitchen and living area with large and comfortable dining area attached. Location fine for us near to coast and short drives to Coniston and up to Ravenglass area - no more than 45 minutes. Set in midst of sheep farming area but with dog on the lead at all times able to walk some interesting paths close to the cottage. Stone walls and effective gates meant dogs secure at the cottage too. Would suggest looking at re-cycling information - only seemed possible to recycle glass with tins etc and paper going into same general waste bin. No details about what should have gone into several light grey bins which always seemed to be empty ? Apart from this minor point a great cottage for a good number of adults and children to stay together. A large hot tub was cleaned and serviced every day."

"The cottage was everything we could have wished for. Waking up each morning to the stunning views of Ullswater on one side and the hillside on the other was breathtaking. The stream running through the grounds gave the location a sense of calm and quiet. As a consequence we saw lots of wild life including a hare and a mole. The sheep and lambs munched away on the grass. It really was an idyll of peace and tranquillity. The owner, who lives on site, was very helpful but not intrusive. The cottage itself was very spacious and was obviously looked after with great care by the owner. We wanted for nothing. The beds were comfortable with plenty of wardrobe space. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. It is also within easy driving distance of Pooley Bridge and Penrith where there is also a golf course of which we took advantage . It really is the perfect place to recharge your batteries, the beautiful weather was an added bonus."

"Found the apartment in much need of a couple of coats of paint to re vitalise it, shower in main bathroom is very poor, slow and inadequate flow, didn't use it after 1st day. Kitchen dated with cheap noisey slamming doors, which comes regularly from upstairs and downstairs apartments. Doors to wardrobes banging from up and below too, all hours, overall very noisy neighbours, we ain't used to that as we live in detached property. Whlist cooking breakfast we noticed the cutlery was dirty along with other utencils. there are dirty finger marks on all doors and wardrobe doors above handles, cleaners need to do more thorough and detailed clean on change over.light switch for rear shower adjacent kitchen entrance is filthy and wall around it. Front door very rickety and draughty, still doesn't seem safe when double locked, should be upvc as windows."
