    About this property

With arguably the best views in Scarborough, this stunning mid-terrace Victorian property sits as close to the sea front as you can get from Northcliffe. With sweeping panoramic sea views from the castle to the Sealife Centre, it provides a fabulous holiday home for families and friends to enjoy time together in luxurious surroundings. Set over five floors, there are eight beautifully-appointed spacious bedrooms, all with their own en-suites and one with a freestanding bath situated in the bay window where you can indulge in a deep soak whilst watching the ever changing seas! All the bedrooms boast TVs, DVDs and fridges, while six of the rooms have great flexibility with super king-size double zip/link beds. On the lower ground floor, the bedroom has its own access, along with a larger shower, meaning it may be suitable for those with limited mobility. The main first floor sitting room is warm and welcoming, with a cosy log-effect electric fire, comfy sofas and the most spectacular coastal vistas - don't forget to take your binoculars and watch the ships go by. The modern well-equipped kitchen is on the lower ground floor, with the dining room adjoining, with a large family-friendly table with sits 16, where you can sit and socialize over a meal. A second snug sitting room will be a big hit with the children, with its corner sofa, Xbox and large screen TV, providing plenty of space to spread out. From here, French doors open onto a small yard, where steps lead up to the raised decked patio with an inviting bubbling hot tub - the height of indulgence. Just imagine on a balmy summer's day, relaxing with friends in the warm water with a glass of wine! With tasteful and quality furnishings and decor throughout, guests are assured of every comfort in this exceptional property, with the added benefit of plenty of off road parking, a rare find in this popular seaside resort. Step outside and cross the road to the path that leads down to the sea front and promenade, where you can walk along from North Bay to South Bay and the small pretty harbour, with the castle ruins perched high on the cliff top. Scarborough has much to offer, with golden sands, donkey rides and traditional seafood stalls, with cafés, fish and chips and candy floss to enjoy! There are some excellent restaurants, tea rooms and bistros in the town, along with many independent shops. The choice of attractions in the immediate area is enviable, including the open air theatre in Peasholm Park, Scarborough Cricket Ground, the renowned Stephen Joseph Theatre in the Round, the Sealife Centre at North Bay and art galleries and museums. If you can tear yourselves away from the town, the surrounding countryside of the North York Moors has miles of scenic cycle routes and a wonderful network of public footpaths that take you through spectacular scenery and moorland. With all this at your fingertips, this wonderful property provides a luxurious base for a brilliant holiday.

Popular since Victorian times, the vibrant seaside town of Scarborough retains many of its original fine buildings, parks and gardens, as well as its historic castle which overlooks the town. North Bay and South Bay provide two superb stretches of beautiful, golden sandy beaches, popular with families and small children. There are a number of child friendly activities and many excellent visitor attractions for grown-ups too, including the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough Spa and Scarborough Open Air Theatre for live music.

" All bedrooms are a very good size & well laid out. Welcome gift was a lovely touch! Kitchen was a little disappointing, due to very small dishwasher & fridge - just not appropriate for house sleeping 16! "
    Mrs Day ‐ 1 May 2019
" It was very well equipped and thought out. The rooms were very clean and beautifully decorated. Although the kitchen was small with only one fridge there were small fridges in all the bedrooms. There were also hairdriers and coffee making facilities in each bedroom. There was a lovely welcome hamper on our arrival. We would definitely stay at Queen's Cliff again. "
    Mrs Robinson ‐ 1 May 2019
" Worked perfectly for a family get together. Great location with amazing views. Hot tub a bonus. All rooms equally great, spacious and clean with comfy beds. Host was responsive when we needed something and soon got it sorted. Would definitely go back! "
    Mrs Duff ‐ 1 Apr 2019
" Suits our needs as a group of older adults. Really like the fact that each room has an en-suite, TV and tea and coffee making facilities. The only comment is some issues we had were a little slow at being sorted compared to last year. "
    Mr Foster, March 2019 ‐ 1 Mar 2019
" Good facilities and great views over looking scarborough beach. "
    Mr Thirlwell ‐ 1 Dec 2018
" Christmas decorations including 2 elves were set up around the house, and a lovely, welcoming food and "goodies" hamper was provided. Well situated for the beach and amenities around it as well as a short distance from the town centre and South bay. A delightful week! "
    Mr Keywood ‐ 1 Oct 2018
"There is only one standard size fridge, and the dishwasher is only a slimline one. In addition, the kitchen is very narrow and provides very limited working surfaces, certainly not sufficient for preparing a meal for 14 people. The lounge which is on the first floor is a lovely room with sea views. However, there is insufficient seating for 14 people. The table and two benches in the lounge are superfluous - it is unlikely to be used for eating purposes given that food and drinks would have to ..."

"The house is amazing, loads of space, modern and quirky, situated in the ideal place, views out to sea, we all said was the perfect place for family and friends to get together and have a really great time. Will definately recommend. Great time had by all."
    Mrs Carvey ‐ 1 Aug 2018
"A slim line dishwasher for a house that has room for 16 people, a fridge the right size for a family of four. There was also very little prep space, if the weather hadn’t been so good and we all lived outside, we would have struggled to cook for us all."
    Ms Scholes ‐ 1 Aug 2018
"The house was clean and bright with fantastic panoramic views, the showers were powerful and there were plenty of clean towels to go round. All in all we had a fabulous week and would defiantly recommend this house to everyone."
    Mrs Lau ‐ 1 May 2018
"Very near to the beach and town centre. The bedrooms were all very spacious and clean. Just wish the kitchen and fridge was bigger as 16 people in one house = lots of traffic at meal times... We would return one day...."
    Mrs Duff ‐ 1 Apr 2018
"All bedrooms were spacious with comfortable chairs to relax in and all fittings were of a high quality. There was a hamper of food on our arrival. Any problems or items that were missing were dealt with immediately. Excellent positioning within the town for easy access to attractions, buses and the train station."

"Facilities and rooms were great and were ideal for what we wanted however you do have to keep noise levels down fairly early in the evening due to a neighbour's complaint. There were 16 of us in an 8 bedroomed house celebrating New Year so a tad difficult to control."

"Will stay here again in the future. We had a great weekend."
    Miss Dowen
"). Lovely bedrooms, comfy beds, powerful showers and great that all bedrooms were en-suite! A nice, generous hamper was awaiting our arrival and the rooms were set up with Christmas decorations, an unexpected extra. Set up in the bedrooms was as requested. Great responsive communication from host even though we did not meet them. Areas for improvement - Bedroom on lower-ground floor never got warm despite heating being on; a plug in heater was required. Hot tub was nice addition but not private so it was not used much. There was only one fridge with a small freezer. Not enough plugs in the upstairs lounge - a multi-plugger would have been useful. Check out time unclear (10am in some places 10:30am in others). Only one set of keys across whole household was tricky to manage."

"Really liked the place and the cottage. Very beautiful, comfortable and well equipped."
    - Mr Hawton, March 2017
"The house was immaculate. Nothing was too much trouble for the owner. He was round immediately to sort out the smallest issue. Overall a great week."
    - Mr Kirby, March 2017
"Great long weekend away - excellent base for a mixed group of friends. Great host with excellent welcome hamper, all facilities as shown and property was exactly what we needed for our weekend break. Would return!"

    - Mr Jackson, November 2018
"On arrival we found it beautifully clean, warm and welcoming and were delighted with the generous hamper left for us. The beds were extraordinarily comfortable and the bedrooms large and commodious, everyone commented on how powerful and hot the showers were. We have no complaints whatsoever."

The table and two benches in the lounge are superfluous - it is unlikely to be used for eating purposes given that food and drinks would have to be carried up two flights of stairs. The space would be better utilised by the provision of additional comfortable seating. The bedrooms are comfortable and of a good size. Two of them did not have a hairdryer. Some of the lightbulbs need replacing in the bedrooms too. Although the details state that there is parking for six cars, we could only manage to park five without overlapping the public footpath."
    - Mrs Stent, November 2018
"Had a great weekend get together with family, although the numerous staircases could be an issue for some. Friendly owner turned out immediately when there was an issue with the water and corrected the problem. Large lounge accommodates everyone. Not sure about dinning table in this room felt the lounge could be improved if table removed and another sofa placed in there. Plenty to do around the local area."
    - Mr Kimberley, August 2018
"Queens Cliff is a beautiful, clean and comfortable house. It is very well equipped with everything that you could need to make sure that you have a great holiday."

"Beautiful house which has been decorated to an exceptional standard. Amazing views and everything catered for. Unfortunately we booked on the basis of a hottub being available but due to the neighbours being adonent that 8 o'clock is a reasonable time for guests to not be outside we hardly used it. Quite uncomfortable to have people looking through the window waiting for 8 o'clock to arrive. Good luck for the summer, I'll be amazed if arguments over hottub aren't a weekly occurrence."

"Excellent property and owner extremely helpful. Will stay here again in the future. We had a great weekend."

"Had booked Queen's cliffe to celebrate our Golden Wedding anniversary with our family, so happy I did, what a lovely house, from walking in the door I new it was going to be good, spotlessly clean ,the welcome hamper was a lovely touch, every bedroom comfortable and plenty of room with leather chairs and own tv, the first floor lounge was tastefully decorated with stunning views round the north bay, the dining room table was brilliant for all 16 of us to sit round, a lovely time was had by all, in a great holiday house, in a gorgeous location, which has left us with very happy memories we shall cherish."
