What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mr Tungate - Verified booking

What a beautiful holiday let! Just got home from a fantastic week at this property. The location is amazing with gorgeous sea views and only a few minutes to the beach or High St. There is also a lovely park across the road. Swanage is a beautiful little seaside town with great independent shops and cafes. It also has good access to other attractions such as Corfe Castle and Studlands driving or by bus. 20 mins up hill is Durlston Country Park which has stunning views. The road to the house is very steep so do be mindful but it helped burn off the chips and ice creams! On the ground floor there was a bedroom with single/double bunk bed, large TV, desk and wardrobe. The downstairs bathroom has a bath and shower over it and there is a small utility room with a washing machine, iron/ironing board airer and a small freezer. The cupboard had lots of handy items for cleaning and washing etc. Up on the first floor was the lovely light and airy living space with gorgeous views over the sea from the Juliette balcony and window. The living area was beautiful decorated and the paintings and wall decorations gave the house a lovely seaside feel. Lovely comfy chairs and sofas smart TV with surround sound, dining room table. We loved that there were lots of leaflets and info left for us about the local area and places to visit. he kitchen was very well equipped and had everything we needed for our stay. The master bedroom at the top of the house was just lovely and beautifully decorated! Very calm and peaceful with more stunning views to enjoy. The bed was lovely and comfy and the extras of a fan, hair dryer and reading material were great! Great dressing table and lots of wardrobe and cupboard space. The ensuite bathroom was fab with a bath and a shower cubicle. Lovely fluffy towels too! The whole house was exceptionally clean and very comfortable and with 3 teen daughters, it gave us all our own space. We had such a fantastic stay here and will definitely return! Highly recommend

      The house was lovely!

Large, well equipped kitchen, lovely dining room and a good sitting room. There could have been more places to sit - when the house is full, you have to sit on dining chairs. The bedrooms are wonderful! Big, lots of storage, clean, comfortable beds. The bathrooms are lovely, especially the one on the top floor. With many people in the house, we appreciated the to extra seperate toilets in addition to the bathrooms. The little apartment was also very good to have when staying 14 people in the house. Being Norwegian, we could't manage the AGA in the kitchen, so we had to use the other stove. We would have preferred two "ordinary" stoves, but that is more our own problem. It was very helpful with the big utility room and being able to wash and dry clothes. There was also a good parking space for our four cars. The house is just a short walk from the beach and town centre. I would highly recommend this property for big families to enjoy a holiday in lovely Swanage

This "cottage" was more like a house.

To access it, it was necessary for us to drive carefully up and down the steep hill, and, steer carefully in and out of the narrow parking bays which we found to be stressful, yet bays were always available for us. The cottage was modern, spacious, well-furnished, and, clean. Excellent modern full-length wardrobes, very comfortable beds, and, an extremely quiet area at night. However, the bedroom blinds do not block out the light so this aspect was disappointing to our sleep. Wonderful views of the hills from the master bedroom. On occasion, we dined in the patio back garden along with usual noises from a residential estate. The kitchen spotlights flicker erratically, however this is a minor point. We enjoyed visits to Swanage, the Steam Railway was fab as was Corfe Castle, Studland Bay, and Durlston Castle. The Pier Head restaurant in Swanage served us superb seafood dishes.

My wife, myself and our four friends made the very best of our one week stay at 20 Ulwell Road.

I say this, as the weather could have been a lot kinder to us. We were left a very nice welcome pack, that contained most of the 'immediate essentials.' The house is very well presented and had pretty much everything we could have wanted. I stayed in the ground floor bedroom/apartment, which was large. The furnishings in this room are a little bit tired, but perfectly adequate. The shower has some black mould on the seals. My one big problem with this room was the tap in the sink. It took around 5 minutes for any hot water to come through and when it did, there was just the smallest gap between cold and scorching hot. This needs fixing. The lounge and dining room are very nice, as were the other bedrooms, although one shower was not working. One pleasant call with the Owner was enough for this to be fixed. I would recommend the rental of this property to anyone.

We had a fantastic stay at Hillcrest. Great location short walk from town, handy hints at a shortcut in the book inside the house. Such a well equipped property with everything you need and more for an easy and comfortable stay. We travelled with two small children and a small dog, great garden for them all to have a run in, the twin room was so cosy, ideal for the kids who also liked the novelty of having a TV in their room! (Would be just as comfortable for adults) The beach hut was a fantastic extra and worth every penny. Would recommend a stay here to anyone looking for a relaxed and comfortable stay in Swanage.
