Guests say

Little Steppes is a well-received cottage in Swanage, Dorset, praised for its cosy atmosphere, comfortable furnishings, and convenient location. Guests appreciate the clean and well-equipped property, with special mentions of the comfortable king-size bed and the pleasant garden space. The cottage's proximity to local amenities and the town centre is noted, alongside its suitability for dog owners. While some guests mention minor issues, the overall sentiment is highly positive, with many looking forward to returning.

The majority of guests found Little Steppes to be very clean and well-maintained, with specific commendations for the cleanliness standard. However, a few guests noted areas where cleanliness could be improved, such as dust and mould in the kitchen, which slightly affects the score.

The location is generally praised for being peaceful and within walking distance to the beach, shops, and local eateries. The convenience of nearby public transport is also appreciated. Some guests felt the road was busier than expected and the walk to town slightly longer, which is considered in the score.

Guests frequently mention the comfort of the cottage, highlighting the cosy lounge, comfortable beds, and overall homely feel. The presence of a log burner adds to the comfort level. There are some mentions of the property being compact and issues with low ceilings and floor levels, which are minor concerns.

Facilities are generally well-received, with positive remarks on the well-equipped kitchen and the quality of the shower and bath. However, some guests noted missing items or maintenance issues, such as the kitchen worktop condition and the smoke detector being found in a drawer, which suggests room for improvement.

While guests have mentioned welcome gifts and treats for both themselves and their dogs, which indicates thoughtfulness, there is not enough consistent information across the reviews to accurately score this category. It should be noted that such gestures are appreciated but not guaranteed.

Little Steps is cosy and well located. The welcome gifts were a lovely touch, thank you.

Cute and cosy cottage with the most comfortable bed and linen. Location was great and parking was never an issue. Loved hearing the singing from the church on Sunday morning whilst sitting outside. It felt a calm, homely space and was sympathetically furnished and renovated.

This cottage is very small and a short distance to the sea. The stairs are steep with narrow steps, you have to go down the stairs through the living room then the kitchen and the utility room to the bathroom (we keep the landing and the downstairs lights on all night as it was not nice to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night).
