What our customers say about their holidays

This holiday home has it all, there is nothing you have to ask for, everything is provided.

Yes the owners may live next door but they never bother you unless they see you out and about and may just stop for a chat. The home is lovely, clean and tidy and all needs are catered for when it comes to comfort. Apart from food obviously nothing is needed for the kitchen as everything from dishwasher tablets to Fairy washing powder are provided. The shower is amazing and the beds are really comfy. The garden was ideal for our dog and was secluded.. Yes this house is also on a working farm as the owners are the farmers, but you would never have known as there is no disruption to the peace and quiet you get here. It is ideally situated to visit Bude which is about 7 miles away and the surrounding area. About 4 miles away is a little place called Crackington Haven we used to take our dog there at the end of the day so that she could have a swim in the sea and the big stream leading down to the sea. This home is lovely if you are looking for a quiet get away but not a million miles away from the beach and beautiful countryside. The owner does provide you with a Cornish Cream Tea on arrival, but I was not sure if bread rolls were part of that tea instead of scones which is what we had !! But it really was a lovely thought after a long journey from our home. All in all would we stay here again ABSOLUTELY.

Upon arrival we found that the door handle was hanging off so reported it immediately.

Someone came to look at it and couldnt do it so said he would send his grandad. It was obvious it needed a new lock but my husband helped do a temporary fix. The cottage was absolutely filthy with cobwebs and dead insects everywhere, we mentioned this at the time but nothing was done. I again complained a couple of days later and Someone came and mopped the floor!! Still filth and dead insects on every windowsill. I pulled the bin out to empty it and there was a build up of dirt and debris behind it, very obvious this hadn't been moved in months! I also attempted to vacuum myself but the vacuum cleaner was also filthy and covered in cobwebs. Plates and dishes were chipped and there was no way I was going to use the oven!!! Even the barbecue was broken and disgusting. We had to eat out for every meal as there was no way we could use the pans etc in there. This cost a lot more than we had planned for. The outdoor bbq house was dirty and unuseable with extension cables trailing everywhere. The owner and staff were not very friendly, on checking out the owner was outside reception and totally ignored me. I would definitely not recommend Atlantic Farm to anyone and if this is the standard of properties you use I would not recommend Sykes Cottages either.

A lovely comfortable cottage, in a quiet but not too remote location down a short unmade track, with absolutely everything that's needed for a great holiday.

The garden was secure and a good size for my dogs, and was furnished with a couple of sun loungers and table and chairs - a great spot for soaking up the sun or eating. The kitchen was really well equipped, with plenty of crockery and cutlery, pots, pans etc. and the sitting room was comfy with a good TV and great working wifi. The bed was comfortable - although would have benefitted from some new pillows - they were a bit hard and flat - although I guess that's down to personal preference. The bathroom was equipped with a good powerful shower over the bath. The whole cottage was spotlessly clean when I arrived. Although there were no footpaths for dog walking in the near vicinity of the cottage, great walking can be found only a short drive away at Bude, Widemouth Bay, or Davidstow Moor. The only slight thing I would worry about is if the weather was rainy - which often happens in Cornwall - the stress of trying to clean muddy dogs before they get on the lovely cream carpet! The owners live next door, and it was good to know they were there if needed, but otherwise you're left to your own privacy. I would definitely recommend this as a lovely place to stay and I would book again if I was staying in the area.

      The cottage was lovely!

Off the beaten track at the end of a hamlet of cottages /houses. Had all the stuff you might want and more. Hosts were very friendly and helpful but also allowed you to enjoy your holiday in peace and quiet. The garden was great for kids and dogs(if you had an escape dog there are some very small gaps-it's a thick well established hedge which leads onto farm land and farmers track. But ours were more then happy to stay in the garden. Some Toys/dvd for outside and rainy days. North Cornwall is dog friendly pretty much everywhere, so cottage very well positioned for great beaches (Bude has several beaches) and places to visit with the whole family - Tintagel and Boscastle to name a few are about 20 mins to half an hour away. There is no phone reception for those that require it but this can be over come with WiFi calling if needs must or just enjoy the silence. Main bedroom is a bit of a squeeze but lovely big bed and the size of room was never a problem for us. Living room/kitchen is lovely and so is the twin room. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Beautiful cottage for our wonderful Autumn stay.

I know it's an old property, but the amount of cobwebs around the lights and especially behind the headboards of the single beds were a little off putting - a good vacuum would sort this. Lots of clutter, ornaments etc, where you could see that they've been polished around. Too many plates cups and too much cutlery for a cottage sleeping only 4. The bathroom light is temperamental. The fire in the living roomed worked, however the display did not light up. The upstairs main bedroom the floorboards move so much we were worried the wardrobe and chest of drawers would tip over, or the ornaments would fall and smash. Please remember to take a toilet roll as we arrived before going to the shops and there wasn't no toilet roll at all. However we did have a lovely stay, during storm Ciarán, we certainly couldn't hear much of the bad weather from inside the cottage and we were warm enough. A well stocked shop a short walk down the road and a lovely café. We would like to return to this beautiful cottage.
