Shepherds Rest is a well-received cottage in Cornwall, consistently praised for its cleanliness, peaceful location, and comfortable amenities. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, efficient heating, and the secure garden, ideal for dogs. The welcoming touches, such as a cream tea on arrival, add to the charm of this homely property.
The cottage receives high praise for its spotlessness and well-maintained condition, with multiple reviews highlighting its cleanliness as a standout feature.
The property's location is celebrated for its tranquillity and proximity to local attractions. However, some guests note the rough approach road and distance to shops, slightly affecting the score.
Guests find the cottage to be very warm, cosy, and comfortable, with a homely feel and a garden that adds to the relaxation. The comfortable beds and quiet environment contribute to a restful stay.
The property is well-equipped with a kitchen, entertainment options, and a secure garden. The mention of a well-sized lounge and efficient heating system indicates good maintenance, though a suggestion for sharper knives indicates room for minor improvement.
The hosts' thoughtfulness is frequently mentioned, with gestures like a cream tea on arrival and flowers. While these gifts are warmly received, it's noted that such personal touches, though likely, are not guaranteed.

The property was spotless, very comfortable, and the garden a wonderful space for our daughter to run around in. She loved the selection of outdoor games. We were welcomed with a delightful cream tea to enjoy at our leisure. It was a great location- so quiet, but well placed for exploring the whole of the north coast of Cornwall. Highly recommended!!

The cottage was so clean and comfortable - it had everything we needed. The garden was peaceful and perfect to sit in to enjoy the sunshine and birdsong late into the evening. Thank you, Judith, for the cream tea, milk and fresh flowers - and it was lovely to meet you. The cottage is set in a peaceful location, just 2 miles from the A39 which made Bude, Boscastle and Padstow easily accessible for our day trips. Bude Sea Pool was great for a safe swim and Widemouth Bay is also beautiful with a great cafe and loos in the car park.

! , it had absolutely everything we needed for our stay, there isnât anything the owners john and Judith havenât thought of! The property is down a quiet lane and great parking, We weâre greeted with a lovely cream tea and some milk on arrival which was appreciated after a long journey, the beds was extremely comfortable and the kitchen had everything you could think of, everything was spotlessly clean! The garden is secure, spacious and peaceful, it was lovely to open the patio doors and sit outside, our dog Lexi loved it,the first thing she did when we got there was have a good roll on the grass! The owners live next door but not at all intrusive, my husband is recovering from cancer and this place was just the tonic he needed to help him along the way, we highly recommend this property and we enjoyed it so much we have booked to go back twice next year! Thank you John and Judith for everything.
