Upon arrival we found that the door handle was hanging off so reported it immediately.
Someone came to look at it and couldnt do it so said he would send his grandad. It was obvious it needed a new lock but my husband helped do a temporary fix. The cottage was absolutely filthy with cobwebs and dead insects everywhere, we mentioned this at the time but nothing was done. I again complained a couple of days later and Someone came and mopped the floor!! Still filth and dead insects on every windowsill. I pulled the bin out to empty it and there was a build up of dirt and debris behind it, very obvious this hadn't been moved in months! I also attempted to vacuum myself but the vacuum cleaner was also filthy and covered in cobwebs. Plates and dishes were chipped and there was no way I was going to use the oven!!! Even the barbecue was broken and disgusting. We had to eat out for every meal as there was no way we could use the pans etc in there. This cost a lot more than we had planned for. The outdoor bbq house was dirty and unuseable with extension cables trailing everywhere. The owner and staff were not very friendly, on checking out the owner was outside reception and totally ignored me. I would definitely not recommend Atlantic Farm to anyone and if this is the standard of properties you use I would not recommend Sykes Cottages either.

We had a great stay at Senafe.
The property is very comfortable and the location is excellent, just a few minutes from the amazing dog friendly beach. Our two dogs enjoyed chasing their ball around the safe, enclosed garden and also paddling in the sea. Most of the local shops are dog friendly too which was a bonus. The weather was pretty extreme, due to the storms, but we managed to visit nearby Tintagel and Boscastle as well as Bude. The bad weather meant we had to stay home more that usual and whilst we made use of the great facility to sign in to Netflix etc. we were disappointed that there was nothing else in the property that we usually like to find, such as books or games ( despite being mentioned in the house guide pack). There were quite a number of other items listed which were not there also, such as dog blankets;first aid kit; dvds and no guest book to pass comments back. We appreciate that this might be something related to Covid, but if so, it could be mentioned in the house guide so that people can pack these things. We had a lovely holiday (sadly cut short by the red weather alert) and would definitely return to Senafe and this lovely area of Cornwall.

We did ask if we could arrive early, so partially blamed ourselves, but the house wasnât particularly clean when we arrived.
There were dog hairs, crumbs and sand on the floor and table in the living room. This was disappointing but we moved on, after quickly running the hoover over. The house is very well stocked with most things you would need for a week away. The milk was appreciated for an cuppa after the drive across. On a positive note though, the house is very well located for the beaches and eateries of Bude and we did enjoy our stay there. The double bedroom could do with a blind as the curtains do let a lot of light in, and we couldnât find any recycling clear bags or bin liners as stated in the booklet so just used the bags that were in the bins already. The area seemed really quiet, which was perfect for a relaxing evening after a day of exploring. There were plenty of places nearby to get a coffee, beer or food - or just watch the sunset. Lovely!

Lovely, spacious, well equipped property.
Great location for the beach. Great for my elderly, not very mobile mum and a very dog friendly property. Brilliant garden. Very peaceful. The owners appear to have thought of everything. Considering this is a dog friendly cottage, there was no trace of any dog hairs anywhere. The only thing that let it down was the cobwebs around the ceilings, this problem was particularly bad in the main bedroom and the storage area for the bed was full of dust and dirt. We hoovered these away. Remainder of the property was very clean, bedding and towels also very clean. Fabulous property and holiday and we would definitely book again and recommend to friends. Selection of tea, coffee, biscuits and lovely scones, jam and cream and milk had been left for us, which was a nice surprise. Good communication from Sykes throughout.

Had an amazing time in Sundown. It has everything you will need for a beach break (although bring your own beach towels)! The way the house is designed shows off the beautiful scenery and it literally is 5 minutes walk to the beach. There is enough space to spread out, and the office nook was a lifesaver for my teenage son who considered it as his PC corner. The owners have really thought of everything; games for rainy days. We ate at the beach cafe and the bay view inn. The beach was perfect for us, I was so glad it was monitored by lifeguards, as those waves come fast and strong. We enjoyed kite flying on a windy days and body boarding when the weather permitted. The town of Bude is not even 10 minutes drive away. The neighbourhood was really friendly and we would go back there tomorrow.
