"This house was much nicer than we were expecting. Perhaps the photos hadn't been able to do it justice. Lots of good things about it. It seemed quite spacious and light, it was beautifully designed by an interior designer, it was on a hill so had a good view over the town (and a good through breeze with all windows open in hot weather), the beds were very comfortable, and there was a lovely patio at the back. Some houses in Port Isaac are down in the town and people walking by look straight in. This wasn't the case here and, being at the top of the hill, there weren't many passers by. We stayed with our two teenagers and all of us are reasonably fit so could manage the walk up the hill and the steep steps at the front and back of the house. You do need to be pretty fit and mobile for this house and to take care on the variou steep steps. The bathroom was newly fitted and beautiful, although the lovely overhead shower is designed for people who are 5' 8" and shorter. It's a bit of a challenge for us taller people but we managed. The house is in the town and on one night we could hear a group of people somewhere down the road talking and chatting until about 1 o'clock. As to be expected from a holiday town, though. Also, there were more Doc Martin tourists than we expected, but they didn't come up the hill, and most of them left by about 5pm. Good local pubs with decent food. Nice to be able to walk to a pub rather than have to drive."

"I have to say this is such a beautiful little cottage in the most amazing of locations. The cottage was just so clean and comfortable, with a fresh vase of flowers on the table and a pint of milk in the fridge when we arrived, which was a lovely touch. It was so fantastic that as soon as you walked down the hill, which literally takes about 2 minutes, you were right in the heart of the village of Port Isaac and straight on the beach. The restaurants in the village were all amazing and as we ate out every night of our stay had plenty of choice (but please be aware, no matter where you eat, you really should book ahead). It is also so convenient to the surrounding area we were spoilt for choice. We totally fell in love with the area and have already decided that we need to return in the future."

"This cottage is in a lovely situation right in the heart of Port Isaac with good places to eat close by. When we arrived the cottage was very unwelcoming as it was freezing cold. One of the heaters wasn't on and the others obviously hadn't been on long. There was only enough wood for one fire and although we were told to buy more from the local co op they had sold out and didn't get anymore in whilst we were there. We had to make a trip to Newquay to a garage to get some more logs. After a couple of days with the fire and the heaters on we were lovely and snug but feel that someone should have warmed it up a bit for us. We had a problem with the electrics in the bathroom but luckily had a torch with us. An electrician came to sort it out but the lights still kept going out."

"We both had a really great time at Jasmine Cottage. It is ideally situated to explore Port Isaac and the surrounding area, with great walks and fantastic views. The cottage has everything you could need including lots of thoughtful extras. The welcome book is really helpful with lots of info on the local area. I would recommend the food in the Golden Lion and more importantly the Tribute Ale which was very nice! The cottage and Port Isaac in general is dog friendly allowing dogs in the pub and the cafe opposite all within a couple of minutes walk from the cottage. The parking space is a real bonus especially if staying in the summer. I would recommend this cottage to my family and friends and we hope to return again next year! Thank You"

"Jasmine Cottage is a beautiful cottage. The front of the building doesn't look too good, but inside it's excellent, to a very high standard, and most importantly is dog friendly. At the rear is a lovely terrace, with great views - and it has a parking space, which in Port Isaac is a real plus.We were lucky enough to see the filming of "Doc Martin" whilst in Port Isaac, and although the weather wasn't as good as it might have been, we had a wonderful time, and would definitely return to both Port Isaac and Jasmine Cottage. The only down side relates to the area, and that is the very poor quality of mobile phone signal, or in the case of Port Isaac, non-existent phone signal."
