About this property

Seaspray is a contemporary holiday home, located in an enviable, coastal position in the picturesque fishing village of Port Isaac in North Cornwall. Set over two floors and boasting sea views, this inviting retreat has allocated private parking and is located close to award-winning eateries, ports, trails, and beaches, providing a wonderful base for family holidays. After admiring the stunning clifftop views that greet you, enter the property into a light and bright spacious sitting, dining, and kitchen area – a sociable room to gather round for Cornish feasts and games of charades; a cloakroom is also located on this floor. On the first floor, the relaxing master bedroom boasts sea views and an en-suite shower room, whilst a separate family bathroom services two further bedrooms – one twin room and one single room. From the dining area, bi-fold doors lead out to a small courtyard with seating for two, offering a peaceful space to enjoy a morning coffee before a day of exploring. Seaspray is ideally located within walking distance of Port Isaac’s harbour, which reveals a beach at low tide. The popular restaurant of Michelin star chef Nathan Outlaw, Outlaw’s New Road, is located approximately a short walk away, offering fantastic seafood experiences. Alternatively, if you’d like to cook in the comfort of your holiday home, head to the fish market at the harbour to find the local catch of the day. The nearby South West Coast Path offers beautiful views of Doc Martin’s famous ‘Portwenn’, and from Port Isaac, trails run to Padstow, Tintagel and Portreath - the perfect way to explore the surrounding Cornish coves, towns and villages. Seaspray is a superb family holiday home for those looking to explore, relax and make unforgettable memories in Cornwall, come rain or shine.

Port Isaac; one of the true Cornish treasures. A beautiful fishing village nestling in a steep sided valley, the old village in the valley remains unchanged from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggling in the previous century. An abundance of small character properties complemented by larger cliff-top retreats, can be found with easy access to the numerous restaurants and shops of the village. The sandy harbour provides an abundance of rock pools as the tide retreats. Only ten minutes drive from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer and Rock, it is perfect for romantic and family holidays alike. There is ample parking at the top of the village.

The fridge door didn't close properly so on our arrival late at night having done a food shop, we found the freezer which also didn't close properly (inside the fridge) was so full of ice that we could even get a hand in never mind the shop we'd just bought. Had to defrost the freezer ourselves. Numerous bulbs not working, one light fitting had expose electrics having dropped from the kitchen cupboard, nearly got electrocuted trying to put it back. Lounge, bed 2 and bed 3 blinds have chords missing so we were unable to open/close. Bed one blind had bracket missing or faulty so when I opened it, it bent in the middle and I was then unable to raise or lower it. The not so obvious parts looked like they'd never been cleaned, shower door slide channel for example was absolutely filthy, as was the top of the extractor hood. Generally a very poor state of repair with water marks on the ceiling where the bath and or shower was/is leaking, scuff marks everywhere. Would not recommend this place in it's current state although it does have a lot of potential, it just needs a bit of tlc. Not what I expect from Sykes...

The windows needed cleaning too. All in all it was nice.

We couldn't use this toilet but fortunately could use bathroom toilet upstairs. This was reported to the John Bray office. Parking space for No 3 does not have a sign and is the only one not named or numbered at Castle Rock. Maybe a few more hangers in the wardrobes would be useful. Instructions for underfloor heating would be good if available. Other than that a very nice property at Castle Rock and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and will definitely return.
