A beautiful cottage with a stunning view from the lounge. The approach from the road is not great, but once inside it's lovely and welcoming, There were loads of dog towels to use and a guest umbrella in the lobby. This was lovely I thought and useful! The dining kitchen is pretty with its ornamental aga. The kitchen itself is very small but opens into the dining area so doesn't feel small. There's no dishwasher or washing machine/tumble dryer. The heating was on when we arrived making it a lovely warm welcome. The fire was prepped ready for us to use. The fire did not give out great heat but the heating could be easily changed and the house warmed up quickly. It was well presented, clean and tidy. I loved the crisp white bedding and towels provided. There was a hair dryer. Because the owners use the house themselves occasionally there was plenty of stuff there to use i thought. I needed a plaster as there was a pack in a drawer! There's a bird feeder in the garden and it was lovely sitting watching the birds even close up with the binoculars which have great resolution to look at the birds or up to the top of the hill! Books, maps games there should you desire to use. Had there been a washer dryer and dishwasher I would rate this accommodation 5 star.

The property was really well presented, you could see the owners had put a lot of work into it. The bedrooms were lovely, beds really comfortable and the whole property immaculately clean. Kitchen was well equipped and we had everything we needed. Front room was a cosy family space and I imagine would be very inviting in winter with the log burner on. The whole area around Hawes was picturesque with plenty options for walking and great food, the street was quiet and it was only a short walk into the town so a good base for exploring the area. Only downside I would say is that the garden isn't a safe space for younger children and isn't really accessible unless you're fit and confident ascending and descending very large steps with no rails. Cottage itself is lovely and the garden is charming but it isn't useable on a practical level as an outside space for a family or older person.

Wow! We have just arrived home from a long weekend at hawthorn cottage and I can honestly say this was one of the best weekends Iâve had!
Absolutely beautiful cottage, the location is amazing! The cottage is based on a farm with the view of sheep opposite! My little puppy loved watching them and even tried to go join themâ¦. Thankfully the owner Chris managed to catch her which we are so grateful for! We have visited a variety of lodges/ cottages in the last few years and we often find theyâre out the way and we donât have much to do, but not this place! 15 min drive from Scarborough seafront which was amazing, so much to do around, we also visited a filey farm and Whitby! We are already looking to go again, just perfect! The cottage was actually a lot more spacious than I anticipated too, which was a bonus. The hot tub was lovely and it even has a little window you can open to see the beautiful view whilst relaxing. We really thoroughly enjoyed our weekend and I canât wait to visit again! What a weekend :)

Absolutely stunning cottage.
Beautifully furnished, very comfortable, warm & cosy. Lovely comfortable bed with quality bedding. Fab bathroom with a good size bath and powerful overhead shower. There is a good size oven and ample pots & pans for cooking with. Washing machine which we didnât need to use but good to see one there. Great secure garden for the dog and a hot tub that we didnât get to use as it was a tad cold outside! The cottage and garden were immaculately clean and very welcoming. Lots of nice goodies on a welcome tray, even some treats for the dog which was a lovely touch. This was really appreciated. Paul the owner stopped by on our first day to introduce himself & check everything was OK for us. This place was a real home from home and we didnât want to leave. Already booked a return visit, hopefully the weather will be kinder and weâll get to try the hot tub!

The Nook is a beautiful well appointed cottage.
It has everything you would want with the hot tub being a real bonus. The welcome basket was much appreciated including the dog treats. The cottage is very comfortable and it has a lovely small garden which our dog loved. It was a nice touch that the owner popped over to make sure everything was alright. It is located in a great position to get to anywhere in the area. We went to the nearby pub, which is not noisy, and found the regulars very friendly. If you are 6ft tall, take note of the mind your head signs. It took me a while. The only thing missing, and it might be that I just didn't see it, was an information folder telling what goes in what bin and what to do with towels and bed linen when leaving, maybe information on restaurants/takeaways and directions to nearby walks or parks. Very minor and I would highly recommend The Nook for anyone coming to the area
