Situated in West Cornwall, the ancient market town of Marazion is a great place to visit whatever time of year you're looking to travel. Just two miles away is Penzance and it's only ½ a mile from St Michael's Mount (and its safe sandy beach), making it extremely popular with beach goers - those who want to relax on the golden sands, have a dip in the sea, swim or take part in exhilarating watersports.

What our customers say about their holidays

    • Hannah - Verified booking

Rosemount is a really fabulous property, very clean, everything provided and the most wonderful views!

The bed was extremely comfortable too and it is a special place to stay. The information provided in the house was very useful. It was great to be so close to Marazion, meaning an easy walk down to the shops, pubs, beach and of course St Michael's Mount. Coming back was a slightly different matter, with an uphill walk, the very steep drive and then the 37 uneven height steps to the front door! The price you pay for such amazing views and very definitely worth it! We arrived after a 6 hour drive and went straight down to the Kings Arms - although their kitchen was closed, they were happy to make us fish and chips which we ate outdoors at the end of April. Other outings to recommend were the Shipwrights Arms at Helford, Roskillys near St Keverne, Sennen Cove, Trengwainton, Tremenheere and Trebah Gardens, plus a meal at the Mexico Inn. Next time we'll try the Victoria Inn at Perranuthnoe.too. Additional notes which might help: The listing does now show that there are a number of steps to the front door and out to the garden at the back and I think this is a recent addition as I called up about this before staying. I had thought about bringing my parents but they would not have been able to manage the steps, or the walk to/from town with the steep drive. It might help to note on the booking that there are 37 steps to the front door (no handrail in places), four to go upstairs inside or 9 to go downstairs, two down from the back door and 19 up to the garden, some with very high risers. The garden is also not enclosed for pets which we only realised once we got there, but we made a slight barricade with the bin, so that he couldn't go round the side. A van was parked half way up the drive, at the 180 turn, and didn't move all the time we were there. We have quite a long car which meant a multi-point turn to only just make it past! The directions were very clear if coming from Marazion, but our satnav brought us from the other direction, meaning it was impossible to turn up the drive from that way, plus took us up another drive way first! This is not at all to detract from the property, but might help those who would struggle with that amount of steps. It really is a wonderful place to stay!

Copper Bal Cottage was very clean and tidy, with stylish modern furnishings and tasteful artwork. It has an off-road parking space ideal for a medium-sized car or an on-road parking for a larger car. The garden is really pretty with a patio and a grass lawn, flowers and trees and a choice of seating options. We enjoyed meals on the patio and sitting under the awning to read and relax. We cooked in the kitchen which is well-equipped with a full-sized cooker, fridge-freezer and washing machine. The dining area is bright and comfortable. The lounge is cosy with a TV and streaming services. We didn't need the log burner but this would have been a treat on a cold or wet week. Upstairs the beds are comfortable with white linens and the shower is excellent. It is ideal for a couple of friends - like all older properties the ceilings are low in several of the downstairs rooms and on the stairs but we were aware of this when we booked and it is no problem for someone under 6 feet tall. The village is most practical with the village stores across the road, a post office and a few pubs; it is on a bus route and there are proper roads! There is such a lot to do nearby, magical coastline such as Prussia Cove, gardens such as Trengwainton and Godolphin, the Minack Theatre and St Michael's Mount. It is easy to shop, with Penzance so close by. And don't forget the superb jumpers at Tam O'Shanter in Penzance. You could go on a day trip to the Isles of Scilly from the Penzance Heliport or stay here before going onto Scilly for longer. The owner had gone to a lot of effort to make you feel at home and the letting company provided welcome packs on arrival.

Ner Sea is a lovely comfortable, and thoughtfully planned cottage.

It has a sea view, which we absolutely loved, and to be honest weren't expecting, so it was a wonderful surprise. We were so impressed with the view, we decided to go and buy some binoculars, and believe it or not, we found a suitable pair in the Charity Shop in Marazion. The wood burner was one of the main reasons that we decided on this cottage, together with the fact that logs are supplied in the rent. We were not disappointed. The log store was very well stocked, which came in very handy, as the weather was pretty dreadful for the 2 weeks we were there. Fog, hale, snow, sleet, rain and wind were all experienced in the fortnight that we were in Cornwall. However, this charming cosy cottage, meant that on days that were too awful to venture very far, we could spend a wonderful time indoors, just "chilling". Jenny, the housekeeper is wonderful, and looked after us very well. It is great having her so nearby, in the case of problems. Not that we experienced any during our stay. The small electric heaters supplied, were also a lovely touch, as it helped warm the bedroom/landing up nicely. The position of this cottage is truly wonderful, and everything is easily accessible by car. We would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this cottage for a lovely romantic break. It is quiet, well appointed, and the bed is very comfortable. We look forward to returning as soon as we can.

The cottage is situated in beautiful Marazion and is within easy reach of all the places we wished to explore.

The views from the bedroom, overlooking St Michaels Mount are particularly lovely. The cottage itself was perfect for us, it was tastefully furnished, warm and comfortable and a high standard of cleanliness was apparent. Everything you may need for a self catering holiday was provided for and we were welcomed with a bottle of wine, biscuit treats, tea, coffee and sugar and fresh milk. The WiFi was great. There was an instruction booklet for all appliances which was useful. Jenny the housekeeper lives a few doors away, she is very friendly and gave us some great tips on places to visit. We would have loved to have lit the wood burner to enjoy that romantic feel to the cottage on our evenings in but the nights were just too warm. Whilst the inside of the cottage was lovely, it is fair to say that the 4 levels to the garden area need some attention in order for couples to really enjoy the experience of sitting out during the good weather if they so wish. The car parking space to the rear of the property is narrow, but it is not the size of the space that gave us a problem but the poor quality and unevenness of it, with a low down car this became quite stressful in trying to get into the road without scraping the car valance. There is no alternative parking anywhere in Marazion.

      1. Tried to book the holiday online with many attempts over two days.

Site locked up on the payment screen. Rang to book which was not straight forward and was surprised that I was dealing with Sykes and not Cornish Cottage Holidays. This could account for my Banks reluctance to pay. 2 The directions to the Cottage were wrong and did not direct us to the Cottage and we had to ring the phone number provided to try and find the cottage. We were surprised to find that we were talking to someone in the North of England who was initially reluctant to help “as she did not know the area” After persistence on our part she did manage to direct us. 3 On entering the Cottage we were greeted with a very damp and musty smell. Fortunately, we cleared this by opening all windows, but we could not remove the musty smell from the bathroom all week which made it uncomfortable. 4. The entrance and egress from the road to the cottage caused the car to bottom and damaged the underside. (We are awaiting a report from a garage and this could result in a claim) We spoke to people in the other cottages, and they said their agent had warned them of the hazard and advised them to enter from the other direction which we did with no problem. This all said the Cottage its self was excellent and location was good but obviously more care was needed.
