"Lovely cottage, very comfortable beds. The caretakers Chris and Kim were very kind in ringing me beforehand about location of key etc. The dogs loved the garden, and it was lovely to wake up surrounded by all the trees and birdlife. The problem for us really was the location and access, with a very long and steep garden approach which was very slippy in the rain, quite treacherous- to use the steps at the front of the cottage requires quite a trek down the very narrow and steep lane( with not enough room in the layby for 2 biggish cars.) Younger people would have no problems I'm sure, but I have recently had a knee replacement and found it hard going.Maybe this should be mentioned in the details in future so potential clients are aware. The garden and trees are delightful . Very peaceful and ideal if you want to get away from it all."

"We enjoyed our week staying at The Old Mill, Shillingford. The cottage was comfortable and cosy with all you need for a break away. The owners were welcoming and helpful and the cottage was well furnished. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of storage space in both a wardrobe and chest of drawers. The second bedroom is also of a good size with single beds. Bampton is the nearest town, about a ten minute drive away with a butchers, greengrocers and bakery plus a small supermarket for immediate needs. It also boasts several pubs and eateries. There are many interesting places to see locally and the north coast is just half an hour's drive away over Exmoor. A lovely place to stay in this beautiful part of the country."

"The old mill is a lovely little cottage which is maintained and kept spotless. It had every thing we needed to make our break comfortable and relaxing. The cottage is just off the main road which caused a little road noise but this didn't disturb us, but this meant that it was easy to get to and from other locations in Devon and Somerset. The only point I would say is that the cottage advertised as dog friendly (which we prefer) but we wouldn't be able to take our dog as the garden is shared with lots of poultry and the owners dogs which would mean we wouldnt be able to let our dog in the garden as he would just cause mayhem. But we would have no hesitation in booking this cottage again if it's just us."

"The owners where very welcoming, plus we were greeted by a cake on our arrival (very welcome after a long drive). We found the barn was very comfortable and was equipped to a high standardWe found the barn was ideally located as a base to explore from excellent. We had our dog with us so the secure garden was a bonus. The one thing wrong in the information is that the hotel (200yds away) has closed so no evening meals available. Obviously this was beyond the control of the barn owners, but I would say that they need to update the information on the webpage. We would certainly stay again at the barn.Geoff & Lorna 7th to 14th Sept 2018"

"The owners are very friendly and have lots of advice on local area and attractions. Were there if we needed but also left us to ourselves whichbwas very nice. Loved that it was dog friendly and all the local food places allowed dogs in. The place had good access to train, road and also a ferry service to Exmouth all adding to the attraction of staying there. If we plan to go back to that part of the world we would definitely try and book there again, so many thanks to the owners."
