The initial property we booked was cancelled with just a few weeks notice, and there was little left within our price range for the area we had booked to stay which left us with limited options.
This property is a nice location, only a ten minute walk from St Ives town centre and a five minute walk to a local Co-Op store. The house is well equipped in some areas. The kitchen has good appliances and plenty of cutlery and crockery, as well as a Nespresso coffee machine with some pods. There is also a washing machine and dishwasher. There are some towels for use, though I recommend taking your own as they are only smaller hand towels and wash cloths. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, with plenty of storage space. There is a small outdoor area which is useful for pets, and would be nice in the summer months. The furniture is comfortable, and the property is well decorated throughout. There are some areas of the property which I feel should be better advertised or require improvement. Though parking is advertised, it is a very narrow side street and parking as close as possible to the property on the pavement. We had a larger car and had a ticket left on it by the refuse men that despite our best efforts, they couldn't get past. Other cars also use this road and it is very tight so a high risk of damage to your car. There is a car park a few minutes walk away but costs £16 for 24 hours. Despite the cost we opted to park here rather than outside the property. There is a television in the living room but has no aerial signal, and limited online apps available via a Now box which all require extra cost and are seemingly logged into the owners accounts which feels invasive when trying to use online apps. Some areas of the property have lovely touches, such as the pictures and prints around the house. But there are some areas which are clearly not well looked after. The tap on the kitchen falls off, the dishwasher rocks around as it is too small for the space it is plumbed in, and there are drafts from the windows which are older designs. The bin outside is also screwed shut so you cannot throw rubbish away properly, and due to the wind we didn't want to just leave it there incase of it blowing away, which meant we had to store bags of rubbish in the kitchen until we checked out. There is an upstairs bathroom with a very small shower cubicle, but there is a downstairs bathroom with a bath and larger shower area. Also quite bizarrely on the morning of our checkout as we were cleaning the property, we heard drilling sounds from the side of the house. Someone had appeared and then disappeared without calling in. It was only evident as we were about to check out that they had removed the lock box on where to place the keys without telling us, so without any information, we locked up and posted the keys back through the letterbox. Overall the property is a lovely location, and has some nice personal touches, and is well equipped. But there are some areas which require improvement, and the ability to park should be clearly marked that larger cars would not be able to safely use this facility.

This cottage is stunning.
So much room. It was decorated beautifully and had everything we needed. A lovely welcome gift left for our arrival, lots of detail thought of. Itâs a fabulous size house and will comfortably sleep at least 8 people. All the bedrooms were clean and comfortable. So much so we have purchased the same quilt and pillows as we had such a good nights sleep. From Soak and Sleep! There are two lounges which is perfect when you have kids- especially teenagers who want to play the Wii or watch Netflix! Loads of games in the one lounge which we all enjoyed playing and the Wii was an added bonus! Huge dining table perfect for a large group. Well equipped kitchen, everything looked new and was very clean. Very good quality equipment and appliances. Overall the house was of a very high standard and felt very homely. Highly recommend La Casita which is opposite. Stunning food, wonderful staff. There is a chip shop 5 minutes walk away and a pharmacy and a cost cutter directly opposite. The beach, Carbis Bay, is a 10-15 minute walk away. Coming back up is very steep! The beach is beautiful and has cafes and toilets. The train station to St Ives is half way down the hill to the beach and only takes 5 minutes to get to St Ives. Well worth it- donât bother driving it!! You can walk to St Ives which would take only about 40 minutes. The location is perfect for visiting the area and we had lots of days out. 2 car parking at rear which was perfect. We were very sad to leave, wonderful cottage, fantastic location. Thank you to the owners for such a wonderful stay! Hopefully we will be back next year!!

Arrived to find house and garden in darkness.
Not a great welcome after a long drive, front door was then difficult to open. Settled in and then found a third of the house had no power which included the SKY tv set up. Reported the issue and was told nothing could be done until Monday. Not impressed for a property like this. House is stunning, well prepared by the cleaning team, sumptuous towels and very comfy bedrooms. Stunning views but there are some issues. Shower in the en suite is poor, needs grouting cleaned up and a power shower to fit in with the rest of the room. Settees aren't that comfortable which takes the edge off looking at the great views. The leather sofa could do with some good cushions. The kitchen frying pans all need replacing as they are at the end of there lifespan and no longer non stick. The dining plates also need replacing. This is a stunning house but it needs some updating. I appreciate the impact of Covid but if you charge top fees then you need to keep everything in keeping with the luxury feel that most of the property has. Some beach towels would be a nice touch. Please don't think we didn't enjoy our week because of the above feedback it's intended to help as most people are over positive when writing reviews which doesn't help anyone.

This property is amazing.
And I would definitely recommend it, it was a real find. Sykes Cottages on the other hand were a complete let down. I called, I whatsapped and messaged on their website as per their requests on any automated response. We had an issue with the heating and plug sockets. I never received a response so I don't know what Sykes Cottages reason was. Other then they were too busy from the auto messages said, I think I first tried to contact them on the Wednesday or Thursday, we were there Saturday to Saturday so fairly large chunk of the holiday we needed some help. I had 4 young children with me and 2 80 year olds with me and the weather was not the greatest so really would have been nice to feel like someone was interested and there to help, interestingly when I was asking about payment they were quick to respond to that. I don't suppose they will let this be published because I get their sense their ethos is to do what works for them. I really want to book this property for next year but I don't think I can put my holiday in the hands of Sykes Cottages. We have been back a few weeks now still nothing. Very dissappointing!

Treetops met all our needs, the views were quite spectacular waking up to the sunrises and seeing the sunsets over the bay was breathtaking.
Correcting another review the temperature could be easily adjusted via the thermostat in the kitchen. The access down to the property was tight, however we had two large vehicles and found no problem parking 3 vehicles. The shortcut down to the SW coast path was great which one way took us to St Ives at 15 mins and Carbis Bay at 10 mins walk. Recommend La Casita in Carbis Bay for genuine Spanish tapas and paella. We feel we need to address the communication at the beginning of the holiday, we received a message from the owners that we felt was rather threatening regarding dogs, asking us to not use the lawn and other restrictions finishing with a threat of a £50 fine if broken. If these were addressed before booking we may have thought differently about staying. The same language was used throughout the instructions in the handbook, even having a paragraph on self tan and makeup. For a relaxed holiday this communication needs to be looked at. So in the end the property was fabulous, the owners need to relax.
