"What a fantastic property in a fantastic location for both relaxing and touring. We were a family group of 8 adults and and 1 dog, all of the group were complimentary about Stoneyend with not one single complaint. I have rated local amenities a ten also because everything we needed was just a short drive away, (note, not a short walk). There are some fantastic walks right outside of the front door and the attached land is perfect for the shorter dog wanders with the immediate garden also making a perfect free space for a well behaved dog and for children. The local Una resort was a perfect venue for a special birthday event and is walking distance from Stoneyend if a local cafe/bar or restaurant is required, highly recommended.Stoneyend has all the facilities that you would expect such a premium property to have, however, the cinema/games room proved a perfect addition for the group, especially the younger ones for table tennis, Pool and darts. This would be a perfect bolt-hole for those days with less welcoming weather. We will definitely be planning another trip to Stoneyend and can highly recommend it for a group or family get-away. I would just like to thank the owners for allowing us to stay in such a special property in such a spectacular location.Ten-out-of-ten, first class stay :)"

"The cottage was just the job for two people. Comfortable, reasonably equipped and roomy enough. The place was spotless and the mattress was firm which suited us. The shower was adequate but was tricky to get right and not very powerful. The hotel it is attached to was quite old fashioned which you will either like or not. We didn’t eat there so cannot comment on the food. The surrounding grounds were lovely. The location is quite a bit out of Falmouth but a taxi is less than a tenner and there is a bus 5 minutes walk away. Also 15 minutes away is a great pub. Good food, busy and very friendly. A shop too so what more do you need? This is a good place and I recommend it. If you’re into dogs you can bring them. If you’re not then the slight doggy smell might be slightly off putting. But it went over a couple of days (or we got used to it) so not a show stopper. The price is ok. You get what you pay for and I’d happily repeat the experience. We had a lovely time. Hope this review helps."

"I normally do not complain about many things at all. In this instance I shall make an exception however. We arrived at the cottage to find that the log fire was still full of ashes from the previous letting, the log basket was full of waste including and empty bag of coal. The paving on the way into the main entrance is lose and makes an awful racket as you cross into and out of the property. As you go into the cottage the floor tiles are loose and insecure, i lifted one out.The cooker was dirty and & my wife had to clean it before we could use it.The garden was beautiful and very well looked after, it was very secure and our dogs could roam freely and with no worry. The location is ideal right on the edge of Bodmin Moor, you are ideally placed to be within a short distance of many of Cornwall's amazing attractions. It is a real shame that the cottage is not looked after the same way as the garden because it has the potential to be a very nice letting but needs a lot more TLC.Pete"

"Initially we thought we'd made a huge mistake with the location because there was just nowhere to park and nowhere available to eat on the evening we arrived. However, we decided to park on the road leading into Mousehole which meant a 15ish minute walk. But that turned out fine. The parking was free and the view made the walk really enjoyable. We went into Penzance to eat, plenty of choice. We visited Lands End and enjoyed the beach and walks around Mousehole. The beach at nearby Porthcurno is beautiful. The cottage is dated but that didn't bother us, in fact we loved it. All we would change is the beds. 2 singles in one of the rooms would be great as we have teenagers, a girl and a boy and they can't share. My daughter ended up with the short straw and inflatable bed. Non of this ruined our holiday, we had a lovely time. Highly recommended, we would love to go back."

"The accommodation was spotless. The location for us was ideal as we wanted to be in a remote and quiet place. It is not suited to anyone without a car nor anyone nervous of driving down narrow lanes. The nearest major town is Truro which is easily accessible across the King Harry Ferry (£8 return). Apart from the local pub in Philleigh there are no other immediately available facilities. There are other facilities in the local towns and villages. The food in the local pub is excellent. If it is a beach holiday you are after there are just a few easily accessible beaches on the Peninsular. There are so many attractions to visit if you like stunning scenery, gardens and stately homes. It helps with car parking if you are a National Trust Member otherwise on any of their sites expect to pay £5."
