What our customers say about their holidays

Jackie And John have an absolute amazing property.

It has been furnished to a high specification which is gorgeous. Everything is brand new. The kitchen was excellently equipped with everything, included salt pepper, cling film and foil (which some accommodations don’t provide). Children’s cutlery plates bowls and cups provided - another bonus to prevent breakages. To us the little things really help to make a stay homely and comforting. Such as the throws and a little dog basket. The house is in an excellent location to the park and sea front, with great parking on the road outside the house. Use the clock to get 3 hours free parking or the scratch card for all day parking. The beds were very comfortable and lovely fresh clean bedding. Towels again brand new and fluffy. Bathrooms were immaculate and to the top specification. TVs were up to date with apps enabled. Free WIFI bonus! The house was perfect for our stay - not one negative. We will be returning thank you so much x

parking in whole of scarborough is permit only, the place promises to provide a permit that will allow for parking outside the apartment. their only solution was to park in a carpark 10 minute walk away, and provide compensation up to £30 for a 3 night stay. it cost £36 to park for 3 nights. the apartment is up 3 flights of narrow and steep stairs which is not well advertised. anyone with mobility issues would not be able to access the apartment. there were marks on the duvet sheets and a large hole in the duvet cover, as-well as several smaller holes in some of the towels. the water pressure is very poor and the water is very cloudy, we purchased bottled water for drinking and only uses tap water for washing and boiling. the surrounding areas are beautiful and scarborough is a lovely place to visit with lots of dog friendly amenities. overall we did enjoy our visit through will not be returning nor booking through host and stay again

We loved our stay at Chapel Cottage.

It's a wonderful cosy cottage, nicely decorated with comfy seating, great shower & pleasant aspect in a lovely, sleepy village of stone cottages. We loved the cakes/welcome pack when we arrived, which was a surprise and a lovely touch. The cottage was immaculately clean (and I'm very particular!) Parking was on the road but it was very easy (the driveway is quite narrow). There is a very nice pub within walking distance serving food using local suppliers (Sunday lunch was great). The cottage is ideally situated for the coast and the Moors and there are so many places of interest within easy reach. It was great to spend the day out and about and then spend the evenings sitting comfortably in front of the fire. We met the owners Sue and Andrew who are lovely and were very keen to ensure that we were happy with everything. We had a great week in this gem of a cottage and look forward to returning soon. Thank you Sue & Andrew.

This is a charming cottage and was greeted with a nice bottle of wine and some sweet goodies.

We do feel that a little updating and brightening up is needed. Some of the decor is dark giving the cottage a very dark feel, maybe some local Yorkshire pictures could replace some of the very dreary ones around the cottage to help cheer it up. One of the living rooms windows leaked very badly during a downpour, resulting in quite a puddle on the floor so this needs seeing to. The beds are firm perhaps to firm for some and seating in the living room could be better, just a small 2 seat sofa and some old armchairs that have seen better days. Also there was no DVD as listed. The parking is tight but that was expected and was fine for us but didn’t realise it was a shared access, which felt a little bit invasive when trying to relax on a sunny day in the back garden. All in all not a bad little cottage but could be made better with a little thought.

8 minute walk to the open air theatre (reason we went in the first place), 12 minute walk to the beach. Light and airy interior, little touches like the tea/coffee/milk sachets which meant you could have a brew straight away if you had not taken your own stuff. We were in the top Flat (4th floor) so the stairs up were a bit emotional on the first day with all our stuff but when unencumbered they werent so bad. In the mornings the local seagulls had a group meeting on the roof and for a creature with small-ish feet they made a bit of a noise with all their scuttling about. Paradoxically, bearing in mind that we chose this location due to its proximity to the open air theatre, on subsequent nights we could hear the acts. Not deafening, sounded like a house party down the street kinda thing, but it ended between 22:00 - 22:30.
