What our customers say about their holidays

We stayed here in July 2020 with our two boys aged 11 and 7.

Lovely cottage, plenty of space in the garden for kids to explore and play ball games. Well equipped cottage, hot tub and sauna were amazing too and made our trip. It is situated within woodland which we loved as we like spotting birds and wildlife and even had a woodpecker visit the bird table ! It’s close to local pub which you could walk to in 15 mins easily. Without trying to be picky there is a stagnant pond to the rear of the cottage that is at the bottom of a slope next to the woodland. Other than being an unpleasant spot for the football to roll into I assume it’s assisting with the midge population too ! Not sure what purpose it serves really, However you can’t see it or smell it from the cottage and it will not put us off returning as we are intending to do next year. The owners are really friendly and were great helping us with local amenities while we were there, even provided some bikes for us to use ! Overall a great place to stay and we would fully recommend it

We had a wonderful stay at Pond Farm.

We visited at Christmas time and there were lovely decorations up throughout. The welcome pack was lovely and a nice treat upon arrival. The lounge is a great size with a huge TV. Unfortunately the local tv mast was down when we stayed but the owners ensured we had access to all the main streaming services so being able to use those was brilliant. The cottage was clean and tidy. The beds were comfortable with plenty of extra pillows if needed. The “outside lounge” as my kids called it was fantastic for sitting it and enjoying a nice drink in the evening with great heaters taking the chill off. There was a fantastic selection of games, books, DVDs for adults and kids with an Xbox available as well. The grounds are great for dogs with a doggy shower in the out house along with dog shampoo and towels. There ideas a big gate protecting the property with plenty of parking. I would highly recommend Pond Farm if you’re looking for somewhere to chill out with quick access to the seaside.

You will not be disappointed staying here.

This is our second stay in less than 6 months. The lodge has everything you could possibly need. The welcome basket is excellent and the little gift in the box is extremely cute. The place feels very homely, you can sit for hours just looking out of the large windows in the sitting room. We love the sauna and the hot tub , and our little furbaby loved exploring the grounds. The owners are extremely friendly and nothing at all is a bother. I would highly recommend this lodge as I have to family and friends. We will definitely be booking again. If you like eating out the black bull in the village is a must for food, it is excellent and extremely tasty, the staff are friendly, however, they don’t allow dogs inside the pub. If you want to travel a bit further out for food that is also dog friendly, the visit the Stables in Whitby

This is a gem of a find. The views over the bay are beautiful and you can walk into Staithes along the Cleveland way. Caroline, the host, has equipped the barn with everything you need and also provided an ample welcome pack. The hosts live on site and met us to welcome us and showed us round. The beds are comfortable and all the rooms tastefully decorated. We loved relaxing in the hot tub after a day out and my son loved playing table football and pool in the games room which we could access from outside. It was a lovely property for a family holiday. We came with the grandparents and it was perfect for everyone. It is one of the best quality self catering holiday accommodation we have found and stayed in. We would definitely recommend it and stay there again, when in the area.

We stayed at the barn Monday to Friday for my son’s wedding at Danby Castle, what a wonderful place to stay and a perfect place to finish off final wedding arrangements. The owner could not have been more helpful, checking in with me by text during our stay. The barn was a home from home and extremely well equipped, there was a selection of welcome produce waiting for us when we arrived which was much appreciated. The hot tub was great and the added bonus of use of the games room went down very well with the family. One of our party is a wheelchair user and the step free access into the property to the bedroom on the ground floor was very useful. We would love to return one day and see more of the local area, there is so much to see and do, thanks again
