The Snug has living/dining room with gas central heating and a wood burner for those cosy colder months; a comfy two-seater sofa; a small dining table and dining chairs, all next to the kitchen that is fully equipped including a toaster and microwave. The bedroom has a king size bed with a comfortable Hypnos mattress, bedside tables and a fitted wardrobe with shelving. Outside there is a small enclosed sitting out area adjacent to a courtyard with a table and two chairs where you can sit with a coffee and catch the sunshine on a fine day.
Kirkby Lonsdale is ideally situated between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales National Parks and is located on a river terrace overlooking the river Lune. It boasts the famous Ruskin’s view, and from there are steps leading down to a river walk to Devils Bridge - all just a few minutes’ walk away from the cottage.
The Snug is a grade II listed cottage in the centre of Kirkby Lonsdale and in one of the oldest parts of the town. It is a short stroll to all the pubs, shops and restaurants and also has a 13th century Market Charter with market day on Thursdays. Kirkby Lonsdale is well served by a Booths supermarket, a chemist, banks, a post office and many interesting shops to browse around. This charming cottage is a perfect hideaway for a couples’ retreat, providing an excellent and convenient base to explore the Lakes and Dales with an abundance of walking and sightseeing opportunities. There are also opportunities for tennis, riding, fishing, golf and a selection of dining opportunities ranging from pub food to fine dining. There is also a very popular fish and chip shop, a bakery/café where you can indulge in a hearty breakfast, and the Royal Barn where you can sample Kirkby’s own local beers, a place that put the ale into Kirkby Lonsdale.

Lovely owner, loved the fact that he emailed with some really useful extra information which helped with travel, parking, even around places to visit based on how busy the area was. Would go again.

Lovely cottage in a great location, only a 2 minute walk to all the pubs and shops. Also some great hikes nearby. I would definitely stay here again!
