What our customers say about their holidays

    • Narendra - Verified booking

From the day before our holiday the Hosts George and Christine were in touch to check our arrival so they could be at the cottage to welcome us and show us around.

A very warm welcome was followed by a tour of the place and the facilities. It was like walking in to a brand new fully equipped modern house with all the facilities that you would think of. Dogs bed, towel and other items for the dog, fruit basket with biscuits, scones, fudge, wine, bread milk ,coffee, tea ,sugar, salt, pepper and much more so you do not have to buy anything straight away on your arrival. The kitchen had brand new cutlery crockery and glasses etc. A nice barbeque with charcoal provided.A very nice bar and seating arrangement in the garden was appreciated specially when we did a barbeque Basically everything that you need was more or less thought of and provided. We were 5 and the beds and rooms were more than adequate. The bathroom and the toilet were very clean with all towels provided. The hosts made a point of welcoming a couple from our party personally next day as they arrived after us. On the whole extremely pleasant experience of going from home to home and I am sure I have forgotten a lot of things! Like the surround sound system in all the rooms! Excellent wifi etc. Truly the sort of host and property that you dream of. Can not wait to go Back. Good luck to George and Christine Hope to see you very very soon.

      Really nice!

VERY comfy Fridge wasn’t overly clean, had to clean the drinks dispenser bit with an anti-bac wipe all brown and sticky, recliner chairs that are super comfy…but don’t recline as the cables been cut :-( wifi…deffo needs an upgrade more than one device at a time or trying to use upstairs you have no chance, steaming on the smart tv “you’re not connected” a fair few times :-( Tv is great though, smart tv, great pic and sound. Kitchen well equipped nice to have somewhere with EVERYTHING you need, oven really good, dishwasher v.good, washing machine in the utility used a few times too very good. Bedrooms nice and clean, very comfy with good quality M&S bedding :-) Bathrooms really good, good size, good showers. Cream tea and milk welcome pack was v.good too. Decent area to get out and about, would deffo look at alternative routes when off out sightseeing, BIG roadworks northbound A30, out through Truro and back round on to the A30 further up for us. Plenty of shops around, big Asda 5 min drive away, Lidl pretty much walking distance, not a bad priced Texaco garage near by, Maccies 2 min drive away too. Really good friendly chip shop Chandlers Plaice 8 min walk deffo try their homemade fishcake!

I asked several times before travelling down as to whether there was a iron and ironing board in the house as i had a family event to attend.

Also, as the listing mentioned a pond but didn't show any images i asked if it was covered or safe with dogs about. I heard nothing back on either of these points. There was an iron and an ironing board but the board didn't have a cover. As for the pond, really think the word pond is stretching it. It was a large puddle in a stone. My dog liked to drink from it though which i discouraged him from obviously. The garden itself was lovely and well kept. Spent many a chilled hour. It has sun all day and really is a treat for this part of Cornwall. The house was like visiting your grandparents house. It had a real family owned feel, and was generally fine. There are lots of spiders but that didn't bother us. Really think though that a double bed rather than two singles in the backroom away from traffic noise would be an idea. There was dirty linen in a bag in the bathroom, and might have brought back some creepy crawlies with us but not sure if that came from the house. I loved the kitchen feel, and liked the way you could open up the door to the garden. Equipment wise it was all fine, feel the TV could do with an upgrade. All in all at the right price we would return!

Boundys House was wonderful even though on a very busy main road.

It had masses of space downstairs and a lovely garden. Beds were very comfortable. What was missing was inability to open windows (apart from the front bedroom which I occupied, and the toilet) as they seem to have been painted over. I always have to sleep with the window open so I could achieve that but the bathroom and other two bedrooms had sealed windows. The kitchen was very well equipped and there was plenty of crockery and cutlery and everything essential for cooking. We arrived by train so were using public transport to get around and it was so easy for us with the bus stops just yards from the house. We did find it a bit strange that only one toilet roll was supplied for 3 of us for 1 week! Clearly not anywhere near enough. I had requested ahead of our visit for a hairdryer and was told that it would be taken out of the locked area for me, and indeed it was there on arrival.

The house was very well equipped, with everything you would need.

Brilliant position near St Ives and very importantly near the railway station, which we made a lot of use of. Also the 2 parking spaces were invaluable. The shower was brilliant !! A nice lot of room with different rooms to choose from. Bedrooms nice and big with ample space. However i feel it would be prudent to add to the listing that the head height in some of the house goes down to about 5' 6 inches and at its max 6 foot ish, therefore anybody taller than that, i.e. myself at 6' 3, would find themselves ducking when moving around the house and a feeling of being a little hemmed in. Secondly the decor could do with updating and there is evidence of water staining quite extensively in the dining room ceiling. The garden could have done with a tidy up. Having said that we enjoyed our holiday in Cornwall but probably wouldn't return to that particular property.
