We really enjoyed our time at Jordan Cottage.
The owners provided us with everything we needed for a comfortable and homely stay. It was ideal for a couple wanting peace and quiet and a nice outlook. Richard gave good advice and guidance on gaining access, parking, local attractions and amenities. Boddinick is a very good location for visiting Fowey, Eden Project, great beaches, historical harbours and other coastal areas with good access to the SW Coastal Paths. The cottage is located half way up a hill so guests should be aware they need to walk up if spending the day in Fowey and using the foot ferry (£2.50/person each way) (Car £6 each way) to cross. Or having a very good meal and few drinks in the Old Ferry Inn at the foot of the hill. It was great to have a designated parking space, but those with low bumpers/poor ground clearance need to take extra care when driving in and out of the steep access to the small car park opposite the cottage. Also be aware there are steps down to the cottage if carrying baggage or those with walking difficulties.

Please read the entire message as it starts with a few negatives but does end on a positive note. The online information at the time of booking indicated that there was private parking for Refuge Cottage. Information provided a few days before the trip then advised us to park in the main public car park at additional cost. This property was chosen for elderly parents so this did cause some initial difficulties. I tried to make contact via your online chat facility but couldn't reach any chat hosts. There was some damp in the property that could cause problems for asthma sufferers and the settee is a little tired. Also the door handle came off the first time we opened the fridge, and the shower head in the twin-room was loose. However, none of this detracted from the fact that Refuge Cottage is a stunning property with a lovely homely feel. We absolutely loved the location and the views are amazing. None of us wanted to leave, including the dog :-) Thank you very much for a lovely holiday!

We absolutely loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone. The views are spectacular, the living space very comfortable, clean and well equipped. It's a very short walk (5 minutes) to the heart of Fowey. Other than getting there in the first place, it's easy to manage without a vehicle (there is no place to park a car). We found Fowey charming, with plenty of restaurant choices, several wonderful bakeries and pubs, and adequate groceries for a short holiday. Walking paths abound, and the 10 minute ferry to Polruan makes the Coastal walk on that side easily accessible. I especially recommend the Hall Walk. Bedrooms are on the 1st and 3rd floor, with the living space in the middle. With two couples this was ideal because we had our own space (although the 3rd floor does not have a bathroom - there is one just down the stairs on the 2nd floor.) There are beds enough for 8 people, but I think you'd feel crowded with more than 6 in the living areas.

The kitchen at Creekside is brilliantly equipped, and the property upstairs is faultless.
Downstairs the childrenâs bedroom and family bathroom and en-suite bedroom all felt very damp and in need of some TLC. The covid check in check out times were restrictive an earlier arrival time would be useful as we had children with us 5pm was too late. Check out by 9 is very tight and to be honest didnât make for a relaxing end to our stay. Iâve never stayed at a cottage with such late and early arrivals and departure timings so Iâm guessing itâs covid related but would suggest Sykes re- address it. The communication was good and despite the fact we had a toddler and a baby in our party, Creekside, was a great property for our numbers and easily manageable with the children.

We loved our stay at this beautiful property.
It had everything that we needed to ensure a relaxing stay. The owner was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed - including fresh asparagus from the garden. Unfortunately during our stay the main glass patio doors in the living room did not open which was a shame as we would have liked to be able to hear the river and enjoy the views a little more. Only small critique (the house really was lovely) was the downstairs rooms - mainly the childrenâs room felt a little damp. Given the age and location of the property I donât believe there is anything that can be done about this, we just made sure we kept it well ventilated. We would 100% come back and would recommend a stay!
