Is it an exaggeration to say this house outside of Filey is the best place I've ever stayed in... and I'm a world traveller? Not least because it was a BARGAIN price for absolutely LUXURY! I booked this for my family hookup - me and my two kids; my sister and her child; my elderly mother celebrating her birthday, and my sister and her boyfriend. We were on a tight budget, and were going to book a caravan site, but we saw this at £35 a head for 3 nights... cheaper than 2 caravans! This huge, clean, gorgeous and well equipped, inspiring house brought us together in happiness, far more than a cramped caravan would! The house is a dream - I knew it had 4 bedrooms but it goes on and on flowing with more rooms than I expected. A second living room that the kids claimed... a little meeting room upstairs where they played games... multiple TVs with Netflix, even an XBox, tons of board games, a log burner (though I didn't get chance to get firewood to use it) a spacious kitchen, clean comfortable beds, lovely wooden doors and floors... there's even a little garagey outhouse through the kitchen with washing facilities and cleaning stuff. It's in the quiet village of Muston, which is very quiet and peaceful, but only a short drive from Filey. We also went to Scarborough and Flamborough Head. Parking is easy, keys easy to access, instructions clear. We wouldn't hesitate to book this place again! Thank you so much! It would be ridiculous to nitpick here. My mum couldn't get normal TV working to watch Corrie, but she had hundreds of other channels. There were a couple fruit flies going round when we arrived... we quickly learned to bag up any rubbish. Firstly the property was a lovely place to stay and the views were amazing!
It was very well furnished and finished and made for a comfortable stay. We were surprised there was no information booklet on arrival? But the fiasco with the additional parking permit not being available did take the shine off the holiday. Mistakes happen and we understand this so whilst frustrating it wasn't initially a major problem that we didn't have all the permits on arrival however the amount of time it took for the issue to be resolved and for the additional permits to be dropped off was unacceptable and certainly not something we would had expected from a reputable holiday company. We arrived on the Saturday and didn't receive the additional permits until the Wednesday meaning we had to use public car parks for a couple of days during our stay during which time my car was also hit by a wheelchair that was left to roll into my car (luckily not causing noticeable damage). This was not convenient as we have a baby and therefore a pushchair so we booked the holiday home on the provision we had parking at the house as advertised. Having to constantly phone and chase up the parking permits over multiple days impacted our holiday and our experience of having a holiday through Sykes was really disappointing which is a real shame given the holiday property itself was a lovely place to stay. There was also a minor issue with a running toilet and shower, but this only occurred infrequently and intermittently so wasn't a big problem for us.

Absolutely loved this place!
Such a good location, had no problems parking with the permits provided. It was a short walk from the front of the sea. Only feedback I had was that the kitchen is tiny and the breakfast bar isnât flat so we didnât use it at all, it could do with just being taken out as itâs in the way. Also we had no guidance as to where the bins were, we had some nappies to dispose of but could not find the bins anywhere. Maybe a little welcome guide on arrival left in the house explaining these things would be good? Also the TV was incredibly hard to use, we just wanted normal tv channels but this was really hard to get on, maybe a user guide would be good? Then the only other feedback I would have is that we had a small toddler and there were no stair gates available and would have been good if the cot had been put up for us for when we arrived⦠as we arrived late at night then it was an extra stress trying to find the cot and work out how to put it up! But I must stress Iâm being extremely picky! I LOVED the house it was to such a high standard and those paint colours! Farrow and ball im guessing! The interior design was spot on!

This was a great house, so lovely and felt like a ‘cottage’! Loads of space to spread out too, and nice big rooms. Maybe if there weee more than 5 of us we would have appreciated more seating in each lounge space to all be together though. It was very clean and tidy, though there were a few spaces that maybe needed attention eg behind beds and sofas )we notice this because of dust allergies!) but I would say this was one of the cleanest places we have stayed! I think it does have underfloor heating downstairs but it didn’t really work which did mean it felt a bit chilly in the evenings downstairs as the radiators are behind sofas and not big enough for the rooms. (but boiling upstairs! ) not enough to spoil our stay in April but could feel colder in the winter maybe? Also we did have to boost the hot water a few times as it ran out after 4 morning showers a couple of times and there were 5 of us! Agin not enough to spoil the stay, it was a lovely cottage, great environment!

Jackie And John have an absolute amazing property.
It has been furnished to a high specification which is gorgeous. Everything is brand new. The kitchen was excellently equipped with everything, included salt pepper, cling film and foil (which some accommodations donât provide). Childrenâs cutlery plates bowls and cups provided - another bonus to prevent breakages. To us the little things really help to make a stay homely and comforting. Such as the throws and a little dog basket. The house is in an excellent location to the park and sea front, with great parking on the road outside the house. Use the clock to get 3 hours free parking or the scratch card for all day parking. The beds were very comfortable and lovely fresh clean bedding. Towels again brand new and fluffy. Bathrooms were immaculate and to the top specification. TVs were up to date with apps enabled. Free WIFI bonus! The house was perfect for our stay - not one negative. We will be returning thank you so much x
