Touted as one of the most beautiful villages within the Yorkshire Dales, West Burton is small and what it’s lacking in loud attractions, is made up for in a friendly community, fresh air and unspoilt views. The Walden Beck burbles past the village and don’t miss the beautiful West Burton Cauldron Falls. Visitors have the whole of the Yorkshire Dales at their feet, and it’s a National Park well worth exploring; either on foot or by bike. After a day out in the fresh air, there is a tea room and pub in the village to offer refreshments.

"Stayed here for a long weekend with my sister-in-law & her dog. We wanted to get away from it all catch up & just chill & here it was perfect. Our hosts Karen & her daughter Kate were really accommodating (they let us check in earlier than planned) and there was tea making facilities & homemade cake waiting for us on arrival. They took time to show us around the property & where everything was & said they would be happy to show us around the farm (a working beef farm) if we liked.Although we were only a party of 2 & a dog, it was really spacious (even if there had been 4 of us we would have been fine). It was great that both bedrooms were en-suite with showers - really practical. The lounge/kitchen/diner was also large & well equipped, but we were told just to ask if there was anything else we needed. Although we were quite happy we would have felt quite comfortable asking as Karen & Kate were very approachable & friendly. We would definitely come back & bring more of our family with us."

"This is a very unusual holiday experience; driving into a dark yew-shaded churchyard to be faced by rows of gravestones, and stumbling into the nave of a church is not the standard holiday cottage! However the conversion is sympathetic, and the 'cottage' is well equipped and comfortable. The drawbacks are implicit in the setup - basically it is one large room, with two large solid balconies with beds etc on each. The kitchen is in the former chancel area, sitting area in the middle and dining at the near end of the nave, as is the bathroom. Everything is solid and quite appropriate, although standing on a memorial stone while doing the washing up takes adjustment. It's a really lovely location, apple trees behind the church and a pond, sitting areas. The farm next door is not obtrusive, and the Old Rectory is close enough if one needs it but not bang on the doorstep. It's very quiet."

"Lovely spacious cottage. Comfortable sofas and beds. Spotlessly clean. Plenty of towels. Lovely welcome hamper. Ideal location. Felt rural but not far from amenities and tourist attractions. Kitchen was well equipped. Fishing lake was a nice bonus but quite overgrown around the edges so difficult to fish. Not much to grumble about, however, the owner had obviously had previous bad experiences as there had been visible damage to the floors and pool table. Cracked tiles were sharp In places. The outdoor seating was uncomfortable but plenty of space for us all. The outdoor shower block was very useful for the hot tub and also rinsing the dog off after muddy walks. The fenced off garden was very secure and great for keeping children and pets safe."

"Converted semi detached barn/bungalow on a friendly working farm. Excellent welcome from the family, which included brownies, eggs and milk, which were much appreciated. Thank you! Short drive into the village of Sutton where we enjoyed a tasty meal at the Lord Nelson (booking essential), but at half an hour’s walk, we felt it was too far with a baby in a pram.Living room dining/kitchen area of the accommodation was a single space, but we only stayed for a weekend and it served us adequately. Three ensuite bathrooms was a major bonus and I can recommend for this reason alone. Beautiful countryside with lots to do in the area. We will return in future without a doubt."

"A large, warm and comfortable property with equally warm hosts, Bob and Sally. The hot tub and pool table were big hits with the children and there were bathroom facilities at every turn. Great courtyard which was enclosed for the dogs. The property was one of the cleanest we have ever stayed in and the bath robes and slippers were a luxurious touch. The layout with the downstairs bedroom and wet room was ideal for the grandparents who are less mobile. The weather was poor but the entertainment and connectivity in the house meant we did not mind being indoors. You will not be disappointed if you stay at S25013. Thank you Bob and Sally."
