"There was a lot of thought and detail into how it was kitted and including things like a Bluetooth speaker was really useful. The kitchen was very well equipped which was really important as we were mostly cooking at home, I can't think of any utensil or cooking equipment that was missing and there was even some tea, coffee, pods for the coffee maker and milk in the fridge when we arrived. The main sofa in the living room is huge and you can stretch out without getting in anyone's way (wish we could fit one of these at home). The setting is idyllic and calming with beautiful views all around. Unfortunately we didn't catch sight of the otters but I think we'd have needed to be a bite more diligent. The site is very close to a number of small towns which had a nice variety of shops and places to eat, Cartmel and Grange we really liked. The butchers in Grange was really good and Cartmel had an amazing cheese shop. There are limitless places to go walking, running and cycling locally as well as good places to take kids for activities. An enduring memory will be the service provided by Mrs Blackett throughout; she was really friendly and very quick to respond to any issues that we had. She gave us advice and insight about the area and always had a smile and a wave when we were coming and going. This was one of the nicest places we've ever stayed on holiday and we were already talking about booking again as we sadly departed on the last day."

"If you like top-notch self catering holiday cottages you will love Keeper's Cottage. The property is furnished and equipped to a very high standard throughout and is spotlessly clean. The downstairs area is spacious, light and warm with a stunning open view from the front. You can enjoy this whilst sitting in the hot tub on the patio, or stay inside and enjoy the ambience of the woodburner. The kitchen is brand new and well equipped. The 2 king-size bed-rooms are characterful (high wooden beams), and are as comfortable as an excellent hotel. The third bedroom is smaller with 2 single beds. All 3 en suite bathrooms are brand new and top quality. The location is very peaceful - no contact with the other holiday properties nearby. Access to southern Lakeland is very easy. We were delighted by Keeper's Cottage."

"Beautiful, luxury cottage with stunning views. Lots of little unexpected extras - Prosecco, bread, milk, eggs, jams and biscuits left for us. Kitchen supplies eg tin foil. tomato sauce etc, also in the cupboards so we needn't have bought the kitchen sink with us! Have marked down facilities because of: Difficult to use the hob - maybe the pans weren't for induction? Took a long time to cook anything. Fire sensor directly about the grill in the kitchen which meant it went off constantly while grilling! Problem with the radiators in bedrooms 1 and 2 - very bad hammering sound day and night. Reported to owner as probably need draining. Owner kind and attentive. An excellent stay overall. Particularly enjoyed the use of the hot tub."

"As a group of 6 we stayed in Rowan Cottage. It's an upside down house with 2 bedrooms on the ground floor (1 can be a twin) with one opening out onto a well furnished patio which has steps up to the hot tub and onwards to upper patio which has a dining table and chairs aswell as sofa and chairs. 2 bedrooms upstairs (again 1 can be a twin), open plan living room/dining/kitchen. All bedrooms ensuite and also an extra toilet. Nothing has been overlooked with the refurbishment of these houses, there's a utility room and everything you could want or need is supplied. Amazing standard. Loved the wine fridge and the touch of flip flops for the hot tub and blankets to keep you cosy if sitting out. We wouldn't hesitate to come back here again."
