"Owl cottage could be a fantastic place to stay if a little bit of money was spent on it. Whilst it was clean it is need of refurbishment in certain areas, mainly the wooden conservatory. The kitchen is lacking a decent set of pans to cook with and the crockery is on its last legs with chipped plates. Outside needs more than a cheap wooden pub bench to sit on especially in the warm weather.Whilst these are simply cosmetic touches, it is the very little things that make the difference.Getting to a more serious issue though is the fact that persons unknown are entering Owl Cottage when you are out for the day. There is a 4 digit lock box which we left the key in daily incase our son came home early from his day out. On the Friday I locked the key away and set a specific number and as we were all going to the same place for the day we would know if somebody was entering .... Upon our return the code to unlock was already entered on the box. The caretaker said he would contact the owner as he had not entered the property at all.... There are no daily cleaners. Had no feedback from anyone despite CCTV on the premises."

"We stayed at Bodlasan Groes cottage with our daughter, son in law and 2 children (9 & 7).The cottage was very spacious. We liked having 2 bathrooms. The views from the cottage were spectacular, especially across to Holyhead through the conservatory.Sadly our stay was spoiled by the fact that the interconnecting door to the adjacent (and occupied) property was not locked, and the underfloor heating in the conservatory did not work. We had to move the dining table out of the conservatory into the living room which obviously reduced the space there. There were a great choice of games, toys and books available.Certain aspects of the property were a bit tired, notably damp round the bedroom windows, a very thin mattress and lightweight duvet on the downstairs bed and a dirty oven that set off the smoke alarms when the grill was usedIt is worth a mention that this property is not for the feint-hearted out of season. We stayed in February and the property is very remote and was extremely exposed to gale force winds. This did not stop us getting out every day and we all had an enjoyable break."

"We had a brilliant holiday. My little girls first trip to wales, and it couldn’t have been lovelier. We were so pleasantly surprised by how private the cottage is. Surrounded by Fields, our only neighbours some friendly cows. Amazing views of the mountains. The garden was a brilliant size, we took out the labradors and they loved exploring, and we had peace of mind that they were safe whilst doing so. The house itself was clean, practical and comfortable. Everything you needed for an enjoyable stay, comfy beds, extra blankets, practical wood floors and wipeable sofas! The owner was lovely, she came to check we had settled in okay and gave us tips for the best beaches and where local shops are (a co op approx 5 mins away for stuff we forgot). We there was also a helpful box of information too! Such a fab holiday we can’t wait to return! Thank you!"

"We loved the peace and tranquility there and the views of Snowdonia were stunning. Mrs Jones provided every convenience for our holiday, she welcomed us on arrival to settle us in and we also really appreciated the bottle of wine she left for us on our arrival, those little extra touches mean such a lot. The cleanliness of the property was exceptional. The only thing that we would suggest needs to be addressed, would be that perhaps the dining room chairs need recovering as they look very worn and the faux leather was constantly flaking off and had to be swept up from the floor every day, otherwise Ty Mawr is highly recommended by our family. ***** Owner Response***** Thank you for taking time to review Ty Mawr I do apologise about the chairs, the new chairs arrived the weekend you were leaving I am so sorry. Best wishes to you and many thanks"

"Arrived on a cold windy day. The cottage was very cold and it took a lot of heating up. Couldn't get underfloor heating to work in conservatory at all. Luckily our daughter brought electric heaters 2 days later. We had to carry table into lounge for meals. The kitchen equipment was lacking a few items which we had to buy, like :- baking tray,, serving spoons ,, meat tin, whisk. It was disappointing the pub was further than one mile which was in our criteria. Certainly not in walking distance..!. Parking was a problem. Had to park on grass verge which became soft towards end of week. Was pleased when the neighbours went so I could put car on driveway. Would have been better if caravan was on drive next door.. Next to the boat. Otherwise we had a great week. Really enjoyed ourselves. The cottage on the whole was nice. With great views."
