About this property

Nestled on the scenic Isle of Anglesey, in the sleepy village of Llanbedrgoch, is this charming, detached property, Glasinfryn Cottage. Set within the grounds of the owner’s home, this charming abode is ideal for couples looking to relax amidst this wonderful corner of North Wales. After a day of walking, settle down in the sitting room beside the electric fire, flicking through the Smart TV in search of a favourite show. Carry the conversation into the kitchen/diner where you can utilise the electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, and microwave in preparing a meal before pouring a glass of fizz and toasting to a much-needed break. After a filling feast, make the most of the evening sun by relaxing in the hot tub and soaking up the rural surroundings, before stepping into the shower and rinsing off before bed. Awaken from the king-size bed and pop on your walking boots before tackling the local footpaths and trails, including the magnificent Llyn Coastal Path. A little over two miles away lies the beautiful Traeth Benllech beach where you can catch some rays and make a splash in the sea, while a scenic drive will bring you to Abersoch Beach and Traeth Glan-y-Don, so there’s plenty of options. Ideal for a range of visits, venture to Criccieth Castle and discover its elevated position above the coast, take a trek with Black Rock Llamas, or take in the beauty of St Cybi's Well and its surrounding habitat. A stunning drive inland will take you to the beautiful Snowdonia National Park, a haven for any outdoor enthusiast, home to a world of outdoor activities including hiking, cycling, kayaking and even zip lining at Zip World Forest site. All of this and more awaits at Glasinfryn Cottage.

Benllech is a lovely, long, sandy beach that is quite popular with families. A slipway makes it simple for everyone to access the beach. A picnic area and a number of stores and cafés along the beach, and the village centre has more shops, pubs, hotels, and restaurants. The location aims to appeal to all tastes, with the village itself being perfect for family vacations and the rural setting providing serenity and convenient access to the coast, rural Anglesey, and of course the breathtaking Snowdonia mountains.

Clean, quiet, comfortable with the hot tub being a bonus after walking parts of the coastline around Anglesey. The property is just past the owners house but they left us alone during the week. Ian met us on arrival and gave helpful information to make the most of our stay. Definitely recommend this property.

The standard of the furniture, white goods and kitchen utensils/china was excellent and the property, including the hot tub, was clean. One thing that would have been helpful, though, would have been some shelving in the shower room to better hold toiletries rather than the floor mounted boxes. There was no information provided in the property on local amenities. The gentleman who owned the property did come to the cottage on the afternoon we arrived and spent some time telling us about local restaurants and drives around the island, but information provided in this way can be more difficult to take on board. What would have been more useful would to have been to provide a pack of information, which we’ve always found useful when we’ve stayed in other Sykes properties. About four days into our stay, we came across user manuals for the microwave, dishwasher, tv etc. in one of the kitchen drawers (although the info tor the microwave was for a different model). In summary, the property very much ‘did what it said on the tin’ but there was lot of information provided on what we could not to do, but nothing on what we could do. This did not, though, prevent us spending a wonderful week in a beautiful part of the country.

Ian and Hilary were very welcoming and close at hand if needed but otherwise their nearby presence was very discreet. Excellent location to use as a base for exploring Anglesey by car or walking to Red Wharf Bay cross country starting on a footpath that you pick up right behind the property - just walk to the bottom of the garden, turn right and straight after the large gate there is a style (somewhat overgrown!) on the left. You can then follow various footpaths and quiet country lanes to Red Wharf Bay using such as footpathmap.co.uk. My wife and I were there in peak summer holiday season so some of the car parks in the surrounding towns and villages were a bit too busy, but there is a very large seafront car park at Cemaes Bay, which is certainly worth a visit. Also there is copious parking at Amlwch where you can easily pick up the coastal path. We enjoyed a walk along that to Bull Bay, stopping off en route at the Trecastell Hotel for an excellent Sunday carvery, which is highly recommended. All in all we had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay and are very happy to recommend Glasinfryn Cottage for couples looking to spend a relaxing time on Anglesey.
