What our customers say about their holidays

    • Keith - Verified booking

We found the property pretty much as described, private and comfortable.

The standard of the furniture, white goods and kitchen utensils/china was excellent and the property, including the hot tub, was clean. One thing that would have been helpful, though, would have been some shelving in the shower room to better hold toiletries rather than the floor mounted boxes. There was no information provided in the property on local amenities. The gentleman who owned the property did come to the cottage on the afternoon we arrived and spent some time telling us about local restaurants and drives around the island, but information provided in this way can be more difficult to take on board. What would have been more useful would to have been to provide a pack of information, which we’ve always found useful when we’ve stayed in other Sykes properties. About four days into our stay, we came across user manuals for the microwave, dishwasher, tv etc. in one of the kitchen drawers (although the info tor the microwave was for a different model). In summary, the property very much ‘did what it said on the tin’ but there was lot of information provided on what we could not to do, but nothing on what we could do. This did not, though, prevent us spending a wonderful week in a beautiful part of the country.

      Absolutely love this property.

Stunning House and everything has been thought about, we didn’t want for anything. I could literally live here. If i had to have any negatives and i am being picky. The bed was very squeaky and with a 4 month old every movement he startled. By the time we were leaving he had got used to it though. The pipes in the house clunking, i think this is because the heating wont have been on during the summer but having recently gone cold we had the heating on quite a bit and the pipes made some funny noises. Didn’t really bother us during the day just at night they would randomly go clunk and wake you up. Also the location didnt bother us as we did want a chill and relax with our baby but for others bare in mind there isn’t much to do nearby. Due to the rural location and tranquility your looking at 30mins drive. Caemes Bay is beautiful and only 5 mins drive away but there wasnt much to do there with a baby. We enjoyed our walk around the village and a visit up to the local church Eglwys llanbadrig - don’t forget to grab a milkshake on the way back from the local dairy. We would absolutely come and visit again. Maybe child free so we can explore some of the many walks nearby xx

Clean, comfortable, spacious and very well appointed cottage with the added benefit of a hot tub and good parking.

Ian and Hilary were very welcoming and close at hand if needed but otherwise their nearby presence was very discreet. Excellent location to use as a base for exploring Anglesey by car or walking to Red Wharf Bay cross country starting on a footpath that you pick up right behind the property - just walk to the bottom of the garden, turn right and straight after the large gate there is a style (somewhat overgrown!) on the left. You can then follow various footpaths and quiet country lanes to Red Wharf Bay using such as footpathmap.co.uk. My wife and I were there in peak summer holiday season so some of the car parks in the surrounding towns and villages were a bit too busy, but there is a very large seafront car park at Cemaes Bay, which is certainly worth a visit. Also there is copious parking at Amlwch where you can easily pick up the coastal path. We enjoyed a walk along that to Bull Bay, stopping off en route at the Trecastell Hotel for an excellent Sunday carvery, which is highly recommended. All in all we had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay and are very happy to recommend Glasinfryn Cottage for couples looking to spend a relaxing time on Anglesey.

Booked a three-night break at The Barn in Llanfechell in September for our wedding anniversary.

How was The Barn……? Simply stunning! The photos don’t do The Barn justice, it’s huge! The accommodation is classy, whilst also cozy, the main living space has a beautiful open plan kitchen with breakfast bar, there is a dining space and a separate seating area in front of a super efficient log burner. The sunken sofa area is cosy and the large sofas are perfect for a daytime snooze. The bedroom is beautiful as is the bathroom. The hot tub on the private deck is not overlooked and was very clean and easy to use. I want to know who did the interior design so they can come and do our house! Part of me didn’t want to write this review because I know this place will get booked up once word gets out, it’s excellent! We have loved every minute of staying here. Thank you to the owners, The Barn is truly 5 star luxury accommodation. The Barn sleeps two but unlike other accommodation for couples is ultra spacious. Will we return? Definitely!!

      Beautiful cottage, so peaceful.

We stayed in the falconers cottage. It wad clean and tidy. Will met us on arrival. What a lovely friendly man. He made sure we had everything we wanted, he explained the buttons for the water and heating, although i dont think it dropped below 25 degrees all week and asked us mid week if there were any issues or concerns. We sat down by the pond and watched the dragon flies, morehen and there were a couple herons after the chick's.lots of little birds too. At back of cottage was a sheep field. We even saw the RAF planes fly over. The cottage had all the equipment you needed and Instrsutions on how to use TV with freesat, cooker dishwasher. One tiny little niggle, as this is only personal preference and not a fault with cottage at all, is a TV that you can use Netflix or amazon prime or a dvd player avaliable but that's because I'm use to it at home. Wonderful cottage and will certainly book again and recommend 100%.
