A beautiful bespoke staircase, made by a local craftsman, leads you to the sleeping areas, so freshen up in the bathroom, relaxing in the tub before settling down for the night in one of the tastefully presented bedrooms, including two double bedrooms with handy en-suites and a twin, each with beautiful views over the local countryside. Llanfairpwllgwyngyll is a great location with a selection of shops, eateries and pubs, and has the longest name in Europe. The property is close to Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens, Pili Palas Nature World, Anglesey Sea Zoo and a whole host of fantastic beaches just waiting to be explored. Watersports can be enjoyed from the Menai Strait, and coastal trails through the breath-taking scenery can be found in abundance. Caernarfon, Beaumaris and Penrhyn all offer independent shops to browse at your leisure, and amazing castles where you can learn more about the history and heritage of the local area, and hiking, wild swimming, watersports and more can be had in Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. All of this and much more with a stay at the beautiful Pen-Y-Bryn.

The Anglesey village of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrnd robwllllantysiliogogoch, often known by its abbreviated form of Llanfairpwllgwyngyll, has the longest place name in Europe, with locals referring to it as Llanfair PG. Its name, which translates from Welsh as "St Mary's church in the hollow of the white hazel near to the fierce whirlpool and the church of St Tysilio of the red cave," was made up in 1860 as a publicity ploy for the railway station. Llanfair PG, which is located near the Britannia Bridge and close to the Menai Straits, has a lot to offer families. You can reach the Marquis of Anglesey monument and column by taking a short detour beyond the octagonal Toll House in the direction of Menai Bridge. For a small cost, you may ascend the 115 steps to the summit for stunning views of the surrounding countryside and coast. On the Menai Straits' banks, Nelson's Monument is easily accessible, and you may pass St. Mary's Church on there. There is much to keep you entertained all year long thanks to the nearby stunning Anglesey shoreline, a number of excellent pubs with restaurants, craft and gift stores, and cafés, as many watersports activities and beaches to explore.

There was a fully functional kitchen with plenty of crockery, glassware and utensils. Bedrooms and bedding were all very good although the walls are intrusively thin for sound travel. The lounge had comfortable chairs and sofas with a large tv next to a generous sized dining area which was more than big enough for six adults. The hot tub was in great condition and all ready to go on our arrival and throughout our stay. Communication was excellent. The only minor suggestions for improvements was a coffee machine (pod perhaps?) - there was only a cafetière for those wanting a coffee fix - and a four slice (rather than two) toaster wold be nice. Overall a lovely, warm and comfortable stay in pleasant surroundings in a convenient location for visiting many interesting and beautiful parts of North Wales.

Beautiful location, modern and clean property and in a great location, quiet but close enough to local amenities. This place ticked every box! We brought two large dogs who loved to run in the large, secure garden and then warm up with the underfloor heating. The kitchen is fully stocked with glasses for every need: utensils, pots, pans, chopping boards, serving platters and cleaning stuff. We did find we didn’t have any antibacterial spray or paper towels (but was more than happy to buy) so bare this in mind when doing shopping before coming! There is a mop and Hoover available to use (handy with pets) and washing up liquid, sponges and dishwasher tablets within the kitchen which was really convenient. A highchair is also provided if travelling with children. We had also been left some very delicious cakes which went down fantastically after we arrived. The bedrooms are spotless, with comfortable and large beds and amazing showers in the en-suites. The area is clean, beautiful and quiet with the occasional noise from the nearby roads (nothing major). After reading other reviews, we collected a takeaway from the local Chinese, Golden Bird. We had such a feast and is absolutely worth it’s good reputation. There are many shops within a 20min-30min drive in Bangor, Asda, Marks and Spencers, Waitrose and Lidl all easily accessible by car. If you’re looking for things to do with dogs, we visited Newborough Warren beach which is dog friendly at particular times of the year. This was around 30 minutes drive with parking practically on the beach. Would 100% recommend this stay to anyone with or without dogs. There is no doubt that we will be returning!
