Snaptrip says

Little Gwaelod is a charming cottage in Anglesey, appreciated for its beautiful gardens, cosy atmosphere, and welcoming hosts. Guests enjoy the peaceful location, proximity to beaches and shops, and the added bonus of a fishing pond. While some find the decor and appliances dated, the comfort of the bed and the warmth of the cottage are often praised. The property's rural setting offers a tranquil retreat with the convenience of easy access to local attractions.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Reviews on cleanliness are mixed, with several guests finding the cottage clean and well-equipped, while others noted issues with kitchen cleanliness and dog mess in the garden. The presence of both positive and negative comments suggests a generally acceptable level of cleanliness with room for improvement.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, proximity to beaches, shops, and the A5 expressway. The rural setting offers a relaxing environment, with easy access to explore Anglesey, making it a strong point for the property.

Guests frequently mention the comfort of the beds and the cosy nature of the cottage. However, some have commented on the dated decor and the need for updates, which affects the overall comfort score.

Facilities are seen as adequate but in need of updating. Positive remarks about the well-equipped kitchen and fishing amenities are countered by criticisms of outdated appliances and maintenance issues. The mixed feedback indicates satisfactory facilities that could benefit from modernisation.

There is insufficient information in the reviews to assess the level of thoughtfulness in terms of gifts or special touches provided by the hosts. No specific mentions of gifts were noted, so this category cannot be scored.

About this property

A pleasant Anglesey cottage adjoining the owner's home, on a 25-acre smallholding on the edge of Caergeiliog village, close to the beautiful west coast of this popular isle. Offering accommodation set only on the ground floor, this cosy cottage is surrounded by lovely gardens including a wildlife lake, and is a perfect location for a couple to enjoy a romantic break or an activity holiday. Nearby are wonderful sandy beaches and rocky coves including the magnificent Blue Flag sandy beach at Trearddur Bay, renowned for safe bathing, watersports, sailing and fishing, as well as excellent walking and golfing opportunities. Enjoy the island's wonderful scenery, medieval Beaumaris Castle, Plas Newydd National Trust house and gardens, excellent golf courses, the Anglesey Sea Zoo and day trips throughout neighbouring Snowdonia or Dublin. An ideal cottage for an enjoyable holiday, at any time of year.

The small settlement of Caergeiliog lies close to the scenic west coast of the Isle of Anglesey and is only five miles from Treaddur Bay, a popular seaside village. A great expanse of low, grassy coastline indented with rocky coves and fine sandy beaches make this area one of the most popular areas for visitors in Anglesey. With Blue Flag awarded beaches, the region is perfect for family seaside holidays and offers safe bathing facilities and a host of water sports for the more adventurous. During the summer months the area is a haven for sailing and windsurfing while golfers will enjoy the facilities at the excellent 18-hole course at Holyhead. Shops, pubs and restaurants are plentiful in the nearby villages of Valley and Trearddur Bay and Holyhead offers a wider range of amenities, including a very good leisure centre, an interesting harbour front, a marina, the world's second longest breakwater and exciting day trips to Dublin on the fast ferry.

The owner was able to provide a heater by the second day and restored the central heating by the third day. The TV was listed as a smart TV but the poor Internet rendered this facility unusable. The DVD player could not be used as there was no hand set. The towel rail fell off in the bathroom and the shower head would stay in the required position due to wear. The kettle wouldn't pour without dribbling hot water. There were no instruction leaflets for the electrical goods and no welcome pack of up to date information. No welcome tray on arrival.
