A pleasant Anglesey cottage adjoining the owner's home, on a 25-acre smallholding on the edge of Caergeiliog village, close to the beautiful west coast of this popular isle. Offering accommodation set only on the ground floor, this cosy cottage is surrounded by lovely gardens including a wildlife lake, and is a perfect location for a couple to enjoy a romantic break or an activity holiday. Nearby are wonderful sandy beaches and rocky coves including the magnificent Blue Flag sandy beach at Trearddur Bay, renowned for safe bathing, watersports, sailing and fishing, as well as excellent walking and golfing opportunities. Enjoy the island's wonderful scenery, medieval Beaumaris Castle, Plas Newydd National Trust house and gardens, excellent golf courses, the Anglesey Sea Zoo and day trips throughout neighbouring Snowdonia or Dublin. An ideal cottage for an enjoyable holiday, at any time of year.
The small settlement of Caergeiliog lies close to the scenic west coast of the Isle of Anglesey and is only five miles from Treaddur Bay, a popular seaside village. A great expanse of low, grassy coastline indented with rocky coves and fine sandy beaches make this area one of the most popular areas for visitors in Anglesey. With Blue Flag awarded beaches, the region is perfect for family seaside holidays and offers safe bathing facilities and a host of water sports for the more adventurous. During the summer months the area is a haven for sailing and windsurfing while golfers will enjoy the facilities at the excellent 18-hole course at Holyhead. Shops, pubs and restaurants are plentiful in the nearby villages of Valley and Trearddur Bay and Holyhead offers a wider range of amenities, including a very good leisure centre, an interesting harbour front, a marina, the world's second longest breakwater and exciting day trips to Dublin on the fast ferry.

The cottage and gardens are splendid. Exactly as depicted and described. Very comfortable bed, excellent water pressure all utilities in working order and easy to use. Immaculate with plenty of room for parking. Dark skies to see the stars and lots of birds to watch in the morning with coffee in the garden, including frequent visits from red kites. Everything we needed to relax-Just perfect! Just a short drive to all our favourite places in Anglesey. Its really hard to leave and we will miss the peace and tranquility curated by the lovely Trish and her team. Thanks for having us. One recommendation I would suggest is adding a sofa bed. This would be great as I would love to come back with a friend or my Dad and we would need separate beds. Nonetheless happy to have the whole place to myself. I felt very safe and secure when my husband returned home earlier because of a prior commitment. Highly recommend, thank you for a perfect stay and a warm welcome.

There were a few 'let downs' in the cottage though. Firstly the shower cubicle has a patch of black mould in the corner and there was no shower mat which made the shower base very slippery ( not good for my wife who is unsteady on her feet ). The double bed and especially the pillows were very uncomfortable and did not aid a good night's sleep. Damp patches either side of the front door on entry, and the door itself needs a good shove to open and close ( needs adjustment ). All in all the cottage was located in a perfect location and we look forward to returning, but sadly not to Little Gwaelod. I appreciate that the owner is of poor health at the moment and I do feel that with a little work, the holiday let could be put back to its former glory. And just to mention that if you are 6ft tall or above, mind your head on the light fitting in the lounge...it really hurts!
