This is a lovely warm cosy cottage, it is perfect for walking into the village for a drink, or just a look round. The cottage itself was well equipped with things we needed. It was just perfect for us all

A wonderfully well equipped, comfortable and cosy cottage - with a good amount of coat hooks and pegs (so often overlooked in our experience). Very close to the centre of Helmsley without feeling particularly urban and a great base for exploring North Yorkshire (most things we wanted to see were never more than about 45 minutes drive away!). Enough space for us, and our two teenage sons, to feel like we weren't on top of each other and a lovely garden for our 6 year old whippet to chase squirrels and pigeons around. We've had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend Forge Cottage to others. The owner, was very helpful and friendly as well - sending us very comprehensive information about the cottage, and the surrounding area before we arrived.
