About this property

If you fancy a romantic getaway to Cornwall, then this beautiful apartment is ideal. It is in the stylish seaside village of Rock, just across the Camel Estuary from Padstow and within walking distance of the beach, bakery, butcher, fish and chip shop, pub and boutiques. Rock is a chic seaside destination with excellent amenities and a relaxed atmosphere, and the added benefit of being close to popular attractions and beaches. The self-catering apartment has one bedroom but can accommodate up to two children on comfortable sofa beds.

Bryher is a beautiful apartment in the stylish seaside village of Rock in North Cornwall. It is on the upper floor of a period property in a desirable location set back from the road. Everything you need for a relaxing holiday is within walking distance, including a bakery, deli, small supermarket and the busy Pityme Inn restaurant and pub. The apartment is perfect for couples but can also accommodate up to two children on two sofa beds.

Rock is not a stereotypical seaside resort. For starters, it faces the Camel Estuary rather than the sea, so the waters are typically calm and perfect for swimming, canoeing, windsurfing and sailing. Instead of resort shops selling sticks of rock and beach balls, there are stylish boutiques, a bakery where people queue for fresh bread each morning (top tip: pre-order yours the day before), and a fishmonger who sells fish fresh off fishing boats from Rock, Padstow or Port Isaac. There's a foot ferry to Padstow with a water taxi at night for eating out in Padstow so, once you arrive, you can park your car and settle into the slower pace of life that locals enjoy all year round.

Being active is a pleasure when there are so many activities to enjoy. Polzeath is only two miles from Rock, where the beach has surf schools and places to hire equipment, while very adventurous types can go coasteering around the cliffs. Walking and cycling are always popular. The traffic-free Camel Trail goes for 18 miles between Padstow and Wadebridge, passing through Bodmin Moor and giving beautiful countryside views. Take a guided boat tour or sea safari, or play around of golf at St Enodoc, Polzeath or Trevose.

Local attractions include National Trust properties and stately homes like Prideaux Place, Rick Stein's restaurant and cookery school, and the National Lobster Hatchery. Browse shops and galleries in Padstow, or sightsee at Port Isaac and Tintagel.

The owners have another property in Rock, Hollyhocks, which sleeps up to seven people in three bedrooms. Depending on availability, they can be booked together to accommodate two families or extended families. Please see the owner's website for more information.
