"Excellent location.... That's we're the good news ends, very tired property which is fine for the price and that can be excused. But.... damp in upstairs on suite, (could smell it not see it) damp in main bathroom. Dado rail's were black with dust, as we're skirting boards, don't think master bedroom had been hoovered between guests as found toenails on bedroom floor, not 100% convinced master bedroom sheets had been changed, there was blood on the sheets on one of the beds in back bedroom. Heading down stairs I had to clean the bath before use, the none slip mat is covered in mould, in living room, dvd doesn't always work, carpet next to skirting boards is black, dog hairs throughout the property (I knew pets were allowed but in previous properties I've stayed in this has never been a problem). In dinning room my 2 year old spilt some milk so moped it up and left a clean line on the floor. Kitchen was actually fine but had to clean the glasses before use. This property is filthy dirty, would not recommend I appreciate its nearing the end of a season and would expect things to be tired but can not forgive being dirty. Nearly left after 1st day, glad I didn't enjoyed windomere and will return but not this property. To be honest can not complain about Cumbrian cottages or owner really as I made an error in not reporting issues immediately so they did not have a chance to rectify any issues and cleaned and muddled through myself, however if this is representative of their properties I will look elsewhere in future."

"The location is good for Windermere, but Bowness has more attractions. Cleaning appears to be an unknown concept the house was dirty. The tooth brush glass on the sink was dirty with someone else’s tooth paste, gritty surfaces and fridge, cobwebs and dust around ceiling and lights. We moved an arm chair when looking for one of the kids toys and the area under and behind had obviously not been cleaned for a long time. The cooker however had all the settings rubbed off, so the hob you could work out but the oven was difficult to use not knowing what temperature it was at etc. The WiFi hardly works. It must be noted that the staircases in the property are steep, which would need to be considered for young children, elderly etc. The little drive although tight for a big car was a god send as we were there for Easter and there was no street parking available. With a good clean, updated kitchen appliances and a different internet provider this could be an excellent place to stay."

"This cottage expanded on three sides provided excellent accommodation for our whole family but as has been previously suggested by previous guests the addition of a shower over the bath upstairs would be a great improvement. Seven trying to share one shower was less than ideal! The huge kitchen dining area was great and the kitchen area extremely well equipped with a great double oven, a large fridge and a dishwasher. The original kitchen near the front door that is now a games room was a huge attraction for our grandchildren equipped with a football table, Nintendo GameCube with a range of games and many other jigsaws, games etc. The cottage location near the top of the hill just 50 yards from a footpath up onto the fells leading to a superb viewing point over Lake Windermere was a plus for us, even though walking down into Bowness (or rather back up from Bowness) was challenging for those of us not as young as we used to be!"

"In desperate need of blackouts! Children wake up at the crack of dawn in summer months... 4:45am!Two bathrooms but ONLY ONE SHOWER, so a bit tricky if everyone wants to shower. Without a proper gate it is not really suitable for small children or dogs. We got quite a fright when one of our dogs went roaming around without us noticing. We could not keep the kitchen closed all the time because it was very hot inside the house. Cleanliness could have been better. Dusty carpets, dust behind bedside tables and under washbasin in the bathroom, for example. Very well equipped kitchen. Very comfortable for two families sharing. Downstairs has its own private area for bedrooms and one bathroom. Everyone complained about the mattresses. The beds were too soft so those with back problems will end up sore!"

"We really enjoyed our stay even though we arrived in the snow. The wood burning stove soon made the cottage cosy. The owners have made the best of what they have. Beautifully decorated throughout and very comfortable - especially the sofas and bed. Many holiday cottages have faux leather seating which is so uncomfortable. These sofas made a welcome change. We both slept really well and the cottage was warm enough even though the weather was very cold. Well located for local walks and also within easy walking distance of Keswick. The kitchen had everything we needed. The stairs were rather steep and it was a pain having to go downstairs to the loo in the middle of the night but that was a minor issue and would not put us off using this cottage again."
