What our customers say about their holidays

    • Jacqui - Verified booking

This was our third visit to this wonderful property over a period of approx.

3 years and it didn’t fail this time, from the first!!! We spent Christmas here and the owners supplied a lovely tree for the hall and one in the lounge which was fabulous, thank you! I cooked a lovely Christmas dinner due to the fantastic facilities in this property too! Beds sooooo comfortable and we slept very well. I didn’t get a chance to say hi to Terry (next door) when he called with Christmas gifts from the owner for us and our pooch Marley, which was extremely thoughtful and kind. The scones, jam and cream were also a great addition. I would give this property a Michelin star if there was one available as it’s so comfortable with up-to-date furnishings, facilities and well presented garden. Everything was spotlessly clean and there are electric ‘smelliest so, the rooms are always fresh. Dog bowels are supplied so, don’t worry about packing these. Selfishly, I didn’t want to review so highly as it will generate more interest in this property making it more difficult to book however, credit to the owners as they have put their heart and soul into this property! Only one bug bear! I had a question regarding Christmas at the property therefore contacted Sykes who told me to call the property management company. Talk about pass the buck as it’s Sykes who take our payment and THEY should have called them! The property management company were less than helpful when I tried to contact. At first I received a text to say they would call back, and didn’t! I made three calls before leaving, which were ignored. I called again when we arrived as we were a little early and the weather was very bad. I asked if we could enter the property approx. 30 minutes earlier to be told they would contact the cleaners to see if they had finished. I heard NOTHING and I was also spoken to rather curtly! We arrived at the property twenty minutes early and low and behold, it was ready! A big thank you to the cleaners. I think the owners maybe need to speak to their property management company as I found their customer service poor. Thank you to the owners as your property is fantastic which made our Christmas holiday, wonderful! If I was fortunate to win the lottery, I would make them a very good offer1 :)

We very much enjoyed our stay at the property.

The garden was a perfect size and being enclosed was a comfort given we have a dog. All the rooms, by the small bedroom, were a good size and with sufficient storage for clothes in two of the 3 bedrooms. However bedroom 3 was pretty small for 2 single beds/2 people and the wardrobe was inadequate for 2 people to store their clothes in. In fact it was that small that hanging clothes had to be limited and turned at an angle to be able to close the door. This meant that much of the holiday clothes for the two people sleeping in this room had to be stored in another bedroom. To me this is a single bedroom and not a 2 person bedroom that has been 'stretched' to be 2 person room). I would also like to raise that the mattress in the main bedroom (the one with the on-suite toilet and sink) needs replacing. It had lots of compressed areas which made it bumpy and uncomfortable to sleep on. Also the TV menu/service was very difficult to navigate and I'm not sure what service it actually is (ie not sky etc) but I'm pretty literate with these things and I couldn't work out how to use it and we reverted to using my AppleTV box that I'd brought with me. Some guidance notes on how to use the TV menu would be helpful. Whilst these are relatively minor issues and the overall quality, comfort, facilities and convenience of the property was very good I do feel these issues, particularly the mattress, need addressing.

We had a lovely holiday stay in Apple Barn and the enclosed garden was perfect for our dog.

Pauline (Housekeeping) was lovely in taking care of us and making us feel welcome and the welcome email and handy app from the owners prior to arrival is a brilliant idea so you have everything at your finger tips if you if you need it. For me this would be 5 stars if it had a larger bathroom and softer mattress in one of the rooms. The current shower room which is just off the kitchen is tiny for a two bed property. Even my 6 foot husband couldn’t sit on the toilet properly because of lack of space which isn’t ideal and could be an issue for even taller occupants. The shower room sink also became quite blocked during our stay, but once the owner was contacted they did say they would sort this straight away before the next guest stay. A lovely place and location to stay. We have stayed in Lavender Barn too before which is across the road and given this is only 1 bed, it feels a much larger property.

We had an amazing few days in Tre barn and were so sad to leave!

It was beautifully decorated and furnished. The high ceilings with wooden beams and the wooden flooring was just beautiful. With lovely little touches and details, such as motion sensor light in the bathroom, plenty of hooks to hang coats etc, prosecco chilling on arrival. The super king bed was the comfiest bed we've ever slept in! The location was perfect - lovely and quiet but close to get into Crantock and Holywell for the beaches but not far to drive into Newquay either. We found the barn super dog friendly and our dog settled in straight away - dog towels provided, biscuits, dog bowl. The astroturf grass and enclosed garden were a huge bonus for us with the dog - and something we find hard to find when looking for holiday cottages!! We couldn't fault Tre at all and will most certainly be back - we are already looking at when to book again!

This was our 2nd visit to this property in 2 yrs and once again, did not fail to amaze us with the cleanliness, decor and comfort.

It has everything you could possibly need for a great stay including dog bowls, every kitchen utensil possible, and soaps, towels, even kitchen roll! We can’t thank the owner enough for making our stay so fantastic as the weather was not good and couldn’t get out as much as we’d like to! The super king bed was extremely comfortable as we’d stayed in the king size last time (which was also very comfortable)! We are returning to spend Christmas there and hope there will be a tree but if not, we will still enjoy it as we have arranged to go out with the lovely neighbours, Terry and Jean who have lived there for 33 years! The website for this property is great but, be prepared to be even more pleased with your choice as it is truly lovely. Thank you to Beverley as her choice of decor, fixtures and fittings is first class!
