Overall a lovely cottage and enjoyable stay.
Everything was very clean and the cottage was kitted out with basic essentials such as washing up liquid, hand wash, dishwasher tablets and a couple of loo rolls in each bathroom; very handy to have these on arrival so you're sorted until you can get to the shops. They had an extensive range of pots, pans, plates etc with things like egg cups, juice bottles and all sorts of surprising/useful things. The children's room was gorgeous and there were lots of books and board games throughout the cottage. An extensive welcome pack and lots of info on local attractions. The housekeeper was very friendly. We accidentally cracked one of the plates but were told not to worry about it, and when the chlorine dispenser for the hot tub broke it was quickly replaced with no fuss, which we really appreciated. Only slight downside was that all the notes dotted around the house with warnings about blocking the toilets/using the heating/breaking things/using the dehumidifier made us feel a little less 'at home' and a bit on edge, because they were literally everywhere you looked and it made it a bit harder to relax, in the first couple of days. However, I understand why they feel the notes are needed if they have had bad experiences of people blocking toilets etc...I would maybe suggest putting all the warnings/requests together in the welcome pack, or in a separate book on the table, so that they can be read all together at the beginning of the holiday rather than constantly coming across them the whole time you're there. It just made us feel like every time we went to relax on the sofa, or go to the loo, or brush our teeth there was a note glaring at us with rules, or warnings, or requests. They were all perfectly reasonable rules, warnings and requests - but you just don't really want to be constantly faced with them all day. Having them all in one book of rules would be fine. Another slight negative was that the hot tub is away from the cottage down some steps rather than right outside the door, so you have to walk up and down sometimes when it's dusk or chilly, but this isn't a massive problem. I would also say that this is not an ideal place to stay if you do not have a car and this should perhaps be made more clear in the listing, as we thought there was a bus stop near by but actually the nearest bus stop is a 20 min walk away and that's only one bus route, to go further (e.g St Ives) its an even longer walk across a bridge over a roundabout. The taxi services in Hayle are terrible; only three taxi companies and they are all almost always fully booked so really difficult to get a taxi to and from the cottage. However, if you have a car none of this matters and things like Godrevy Point, Penzance and St Ives are a very short drive away from the cottage. The local pub closed its kitchen earlier than they advised food being served until. We had even called them earlier that day and specifically asked what time food was served until, and when we arrived they had closed the kitchen earlier than the time they had stated. Not even an apology or explanation. So just be aware of this and if you want to eat there then perhaps go a lot earlier in the evening than the advertised time. The pub does have very good reviews and we would have liked to eat there so its definitely something to be aware of. Of course this is nothing to do with the cottage! I just thought I would mention it so people staying here can be aware :)

Treleigh is perfect for a base to stay in Hayle.
Beautiful views, very spacious and very well equipped. Sunsets were amazing and the lights over at Ives on the evening were exceptional. We are definitely going to be using treleigh again in the near future. There were a few downsides though. It looked nice and clean upon arrival and was very impressed. Then on further inspection we noticed there was loads of dust on the blinds, and lots of cobwebs on the ceilings with spiders living in them. We also noticed that certain areas were really dusty like the lamps in the bedrooms and places where you wouldnât think to clean like in between units. We bought a squidgy for the bio fold windows as there were smears on them. They could also do with a better clip on them because they kept blowing shut almost catching our sons fingers in the door frame. Also the extractor fan on the kitchen was covered in grease and dust on the top this can be a fire hazard. This may sound petty mentioning about all this but I do have a child with a bad dust allergy which can trigger sinusitis so I had to go around and correct everything the cleaner had missed. Some of the pots were dirty and not cleaned so I had to put the dishwasher on straight away. The bedroom with the 2 twins bed in the window handle was very dodgy we decided not to open the window in there for fear of it breaking. The toilet seats were also a problem it pinched our boys legs with it sliding all the time. The beds were so squeaky every time you turned over it made loud squeaky noises so hardly any sleep was had. All the beds were the same. Memory foam toppers would be great as you can feel the springs on your back especially the kids beds they kept waking up with back ache. I would also say new carpets in the bedrooms would be great they had a damp musty smell to them. The gardens were unkept there were lots of weeds. Some of them were at least 5 foot high on the front garden and around the side of the house. Yes the grass had been mowed upon arrival but there were weeds everywhere which was unsightly. We went around and pulled some out but shouldnât had to. It would not take much for the owner to request weed killer to be put down in problematic areas to prevent the build up of them. The pictures in the advertisement does not reflect the property at all it looked a little run down. I think money needs to be spent on this to get it upto a good standard. This is just constructive criticism that needs to be worked on and looking at previous reviews of treleigh itâs not being taken into account. Especially with the prices charged to stay here we paid over £2000. We did not let these things stopping us from having a blast. 3 mile beach was amazing especially sheepâs dip if you have crazy kids like like jumping in the see them this is the beach for you. Iâd also recommend The turnpike inn and The terrace in Hayle. Absolutely amazing food at these places. And if you go ST Ives definitely get a cruffin from the bakery.

Lovely bungalow in a fantastic location with beautiful views across St Ives Bay.
Well equipped and spacious bedrooms. Would definitely stay here again butâ¦.. When I looked on the website for next year, the price has gone up by £1,300 to a staggering £2,800 for the same week next year! Seems a bit high when compared to similar accommodation. This bungalow also only has a tiny shower room instead of a bathroom. This is a great bungalow at this years price but based on next years price some things need to improve. The fridge had a strange smell and we found old food crumbs on top and dried up milk although this didnât get rid of the smell so maybe about time the drip tray was cleaned out. The cleaning needs to improve but itâs an outside contractor rather than the owners. It could also do with more outside seating to enjoy the fantastic views. The bungalow sleeps 8 but only had a picnic table outside to seat 6. The bungalow could also do with a rubbish store like other accommodations have and taken away by the cleaners on changeover day if necessary. We turned up to find the wheelie bin already full and had to store rubbish inside until Thursday (bin day). Like I said great bungalow at this years price but the increase on next year cannot be justified. I donât mind paying a bit extra like next door which has gone up by only £77 but £1,300 increase?

The wi-fi connection was intermittent and dropped-out several times a day thus necessitating reconnecting and the remote controller for the tv/dvd did not function on some dvd operations such as ejecting, fast-forwarding etc.
The controller appeared to be a generic, all-in-one device and not specific to the actual make of the TV set. The boiler showed a âresetâ red light on three occasions - it did start-up again once we had pressed the appropriate button. The lid on the hot-tub which is hinged in the middle would only open on one half; the remaining half was extremely heavy and we were not able to raise it so as to access the whole of the hot-tub area. We understand the lid was sodden with water which made it extra heavy. These issues were raised with the local house-keeper who helped as far as she could and asked us to raise the issues via a âplease fix thisâcard to be left in the outside letter-box; we did this re the hot-tub cover but did not receive any acknowledgment from the owners. Although these are relatively minor annoyances we had not experienced any such issues on our first stay at the cottage some two and a half years ago and were disappointed to encounter them this time. We were impressed by the cleanliness of the cottage in general due to the efforts of Lou and her team especially so during this pandemic time and thank the local staff for their thoroughness.

This place took some finder has we didn't know it was John Fowler's.
If i would have known this, I wouldn't have booked this holiday because we had problems last year with John fowler's so wasn't happy at all and the pictures are nothing like. It was very small the bed was uncomfortable and hard. The sofa wasn't much better. I couldn't believe there was no wardrobe in the main bedroom so had no way to hang all my clothes. For some reason we had a really bad smell in the bathroom and took time to source out what the smell was and it was actually coming from the bathroom sink smell like sewage so had to buy some bleach. The property was under a Lord of Trees this is the problems with John fowler's you are surrounded by trees you do not get so sun at all. The only good thing i can say it was clean. You should be told which holiday park you are stopping in. The food wasn't that good apart from the chips one night I got charged £2.50 a few nights later I got some chips but this time I got charged £3.00 and I ask why and just got told I don't know. I will never go again or book with the company I used. I couldn't wait to get home. Very disappointed with all.
