What our customers say about their holidays

    • Elizabeth - Verified booking

      Glyn Morfa cottage was amazing.

The original set up on our arrival was lovely. Each room was beautifully presented. The garden was lovely and our dogs enjoyed playing and looking at the sheep. We were very impressed with the items in the kitchen, which also has a 3 drawer freezer. We actually played ' let's see if there is anything not in the kitchen' we struggled! The beds were conformable and there was storage in each room. The downstairs twin room did smell a little damp but there is a dehumidifier in there which helped. The cottage is in a good location but the road running past is very fast and very busy in the day. As there is no pavement we didn't feel it would be safe walking along it, so we drove to the shop, which is well stocked and just a 2 min drive. From the cottage you are close to Barmouth, Porthmadog and other places. The castle in Harlech is amazing and you get a great view of it from the garden. Speaking of views the views from the cottage are amazing. We had a problem with the TV so called the number in the folder and within 5 minutes Daniel arrived and sorted it for us. The game room was good, with pool table and table football, as the weather was goid we hardly used it but had it been wet it would have been great. Overall we had a fabulous stay at Glyn Morfa

We did have overall a lovely stay and would return if we are not travelling with my Nan.

We loved how much space we had as a family, the kitchen was really well equipped with a massive fridge and living room was perfect for us and very comfortable. We also liked that there was a welcome package with things like milk, biscuits and tea. We specifically booked the accommodation as it had a ground floor bedroom and bathroom due to my nans limited mobility needs however she couldn’t use the shower at all as the shower door was very small (I’m a size 8-10 and felt small even for me) which really did affect our holiday and we left 2 days early as she wasn’t able to wash properly. Also, there were lots of flies in the downstairs bathroom that we couldn’t seem to get rid of. Beds with green bedspread and yellow bedspread were also quite hard. It appears that the bathroom upstairs may need some attention (possibly grout missing in tiles) as on occasions water would drip through the kitchen ceiling when someone was showering. Another point to note is that the Wi-Fi password in the book is wrong but worked out it was standard password on back of router after a little while.

Saw it had a welsh name, Bwthin y mor, disappointed it had been changed to an English name, why!

. It was decorated according to the welsh name. Tv wouldnt work so had to call ownwer who came immediately to show us how it worked. From him, we discovered that there was no BBC channels, and that there was a firestick so there were lots of other things. We had no idea about a firestick, everything we tried to watch seemed to need a sky card or a prime account so we were stuck with the freesat minus BBC programmes. In the summer this would not be a problem, in the winter it was. There should be info on how to use these things as well. We didn't know how to use the microwave/oven and avoided using it, again no instructions. Seating was uncomfortable, small and slouchy whereas I need something that would support my back. (bed was also uncomfortable but this is a personal preference). No instructions on recycling so we guessed at what went where. No bin in the kitchen. Shower has mould growing and is very poor. Took ages to get soap from my hair as the shower wasnt powerful enough. Bathroom generally needs some modernisation

Happy Landings is a really lovely cottage and the views are simply sensational and to be so enjoyed whilst sitting in the front conservatory!

Unfortunately in the UK the one thing you cannot plan for is the weather and sadly for us we endured the tail end of hurricane Ali for 2 days and nights and then torrential rain on a third day! BUT, despite the really scary gale force winds and torrential rain coming straight at us from the sea / Cardigan Bay, we felt really safe, warm and cosy in the cottage and returned home feeling rested and relaxed. On the good weather days we loved wandering around the little shops in Harlech town and journeying to shop in Porthmadog and Barmouth, thoroughly enjoying the drive to both places as the stunning coastal views are simply awesome! Our most favourite place was Llandanwg beach - really close to Happy Landings - and the first beach that our little dog Bonnie had ever been on. The Harlech area was new to us but we enjoyed a really lovely break and plan to return to this area as it is just so lovely.

      The cottage is 10/10.

Full of character yet has all modern amenities and furnished to a very high standard. It is clear the host has taken great care in putting everything together - it’s a very comfortable & cosy place. We were welcomed with some lovely fresh bread, eggs, bottle of wine and delicious Welsh cakes! The main bedroom has a very comfy king size bed and the bathroom is modern with a huge tub. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The garden (front & back) is secure which our puppy loved being able to explore in. All in all, cannot fault this place - it’s a true gem in the heart of Harlech. Walking distance from the castle and lots of eateries & shops and a 5 minute drive from Harlech beach which must be the most beautiful beach we’ve seen in the UK. We would love to return to this little cottage someday for another little getaway.
