When we arrived on the Friday 22nd we discovered that the cottage had not been cleaned or the beds changed.
There were no towels obviously either. We did text the Sparkle and Shine cleaning company and they got in touch on the Saturday morning- they had had no record of the booking. They came on the Saturday afternoon. We had to sleep in beds with no sheets,duvet covers or pillow cases. This was not very nice. Luckily the cottage had been left pretty clean by the previous guests but the bath was dirty and the bins hadnât been emptied. We were not given the owners number to complain -only the cleaning company. The visitors book requested â haven of happinessâ comments only!! I suppose it works both ways. We werenât very happy !! Apart from this bad start we had a lovely holiday and the cottage was great. It was modern, well equipped and had a lovely feel to it. It is a fabulous spot to explore a lot of the Yorkshire Coast.

Morning, this is the second time we have stayed at 2 Perran Court.
On positive, owners rectified issue with insufficient towels within 12 hours. The surfaces in kitchen, kitchenware and kitchen appliances were clean. What let it down: General decoration of the cottage was poor. It was difficult to tell if the wall was marked by people missing the bin or marks where paint had been wiped off. This was the same when we visited 2/3 years ago and comment was made by another occupant. The bathroom smells of stale mash potato and there is brown residue on the rubber seal on shower screen. Also black mould on tiles. We enjoyed our holiday, but I wanted to give feedback for the owners to be aware that this could be the cleaning company. This is not a one off. Also just a fresh lick of paint would make the whole experience more enjoyable.

Property was comfortable incredibly quiet and generally well equipped but carpets and suite need to be cleaned.
We were very disappointed to find that there was virtually no washing up liquid, no dishwasher tablets, no scourer or surface wiper and no spare toilet roll. These we would expect as a minimum. In our experience it is also usual to expect salt, pepper, cooking oil in self catering accommodation. It is also welcome to find milk, tea(there were a few tea bags) and biscuits. There was no welcome pack with details about the property site or the area. No personal communication from the owner. There was minimal provision of games, books etc.. Not an issue for us but would certainly have been significant if children had been staying. With a few tweaks this property could be very good.

Absolutely loved the location of the property and the cleanliness of the whole site, however, on the first day of our arrival we noticed that the clamp that holds the shower head was broken.
We contacted the house owner by messenger, as per the instructions in the welcome b pack, left a voicemail on the emergency maintenance/cleaners phone, again as per instructions in welcome pack and also emailed yourselves. We received no reply from anybody, so had to use the shower by holding it over ourselves. We managed to buy some superglue to fix it and on doing so, noticed that it has obviously been glued numerous times due to the amount of old glue on the clamp! Not very impressed that out of 3 points of contact made, not one replied to us, however, this didn't stop us having a fab time and would definitely return to the complex.

Loved this stay.
The place was very clean and contained all essentials needed for a stay, even extra touches which were nice. The property is in a good position on the site, not far from the main facilities but in a quiet cul de sac. Parking was easy straight outside the property. It was tidy, clean and well equipped. The only thing personally for me that would have made a big difference is to have had the small garden area enclosed for the pooches, but that's a minor thing as I knew before booking most are open to the communal areas. I'm already looking to re-book for next year if this standard is maintained :)
