Lovely cottage and yes I would book again but there could be a few improvements that could be done to make things even better especially if you were paying the higher prices in the high summer season.
The shower head is positioned wrong,it really needs a shower curtain as you end up with water all over the floor as the screen isnt wide enough. There was a clump of hair in the corner of the shower but general cleanliness was ok,the stains ect that other review's mention in the bathroom were not there. The hallway and lounge area floors have yellow stains on them. The bushes infront of the kitchen window need cutting back as you cant see out it. The creaky bedroom floor that someone mentioned in 2019 is still there but at the end of the day it didnt bother me that much and its a holiday cottage thats used week in week out and this wouldnt be an easy task to do. Yes it needs a bit of TLC as I wouldnt pay more than what I did and when some pay over a £1000 you would expect things to be top notch but for what I paid it was fine. The bed and pillows are so comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked with utensils ect Could do with some better and more modern outdoor furniture. Yes parking is a bit of a problem especially if you go in very busy periods but there are other areas available. The directions are wrong too its the 2nd turning on the right not the 1st and there isnt a ground floor bedroom. I would use this cottage again as there was just the 2 of us,maybe it would be a bit small for 4 adults but for a young family ideal. Local eateries I can recommend are The Honey Pot but must book, huge portions and nice friendly staff and loads of choice. Thirty in Filey is a must for brunch, breakfast or lunch and the Bucaneer(Smugglers Cove) in Filey is a great place for dinner but again must book. All in all we had a great stay and Im a regular at The Bay and this was £200 cheaper than booking a cottage directly with the resort.

The information sent to us by the owners prior to our stay was very comprehensive and everything was thought of.
on arrival the cottage was warm and clean a super welcome on a dull day, all the extras in the kitchen are a bonus, not what you get when you normally book let only accommodation, for example, extra crockery, a wide selection of glass wear, huge selection of oven wear and utensils, how often have you holidayed and not had enough utensils to even rustle up a full breakfast for four? all i needed was at white rose cottage. even a selection of melamine plates/bowls for outdoor use of for younger guests in your holiday party. and a slow cooker, throw it all in in the morning switch on, set off for a hike across the moors or a walk over Filey Brigg and its ready on your return. dishwasher and washer/dryer in kitchen also. the lounge area was light bright airy and very comfortably furnished. the bedrooms were comfortable with beautifully clean linen and towels provided. the second bedroom was more than adequate for our 14&12 yr. old for space and comfort, with beds different ends of the room to give them each space and their own storage & lamp. the bathroom had a good shower and large bath with constant hot water supply. a small well kept area outside patio doors to have a bbq and sit at the garden furniture. the free Wi-Fi coped with multiple devices connected at once. The Bay as a site is well kept. we used the pub for a drink but lots were having meals there they looked good. the swimming pool has long opening hours and the times we used it, it was clean and of a reasonable temperature. i consider a week at white rose cottage to be good value for money and we certainly were not dissapointed

This cottage was clean and tidy, conveniently placed on at the Bay complex.
Ideal for touring the area. Very dog friendly and the site has an on site pub and swimming pool. Easy enough access to the beach from the site. The creaking floor upstairs and up the stairs does need addressing though manageable for a weekend break but try being quiet when you need the loo in the night!! or if you go to bed later than anyone else. Three bulbs need replacing in the kitchen area. Didn't find any information pack or details of things to do in the area however as regular visitors to the area we were fine. We recommend Triccolos is Scarborough (not sure of the spelling) with their early bird menu and also The Honey Pot Inn, huge Yorkshire portions and lovely. That is at Speeton. The cottage was clean and tidy but would benefit from some TLC. Parking is first come and first served and we were never lucky so had to park a bit away so bear that in mind if you would like a definite spot.

This is my fifth stay at The Bay and my first at Sleeper Cottage.
Nice cottage and the location was good with a large shared grassed area out back. The downsides to this property was the cleanliness. The first thing we noticed on entry to the property was the smell, a burnt smell hits you as soon as you walk in. I spent the first evening vacuuming the floors and washing pots. Iâd ordered a shop to be delivered before I realised it didnât have a proper fridge freezer just an under cupboard fridge and a small freezer shelf. Thankfully Asda took the frozen items back. The rest of the kitchen pots and pans were good and plentiful. The outdoor furniture was old and dirty and looking around at all the other properties all had much better outdoor dining facilities. The weather was so nice but we had to use our own beech chairs to sit outside. The window in the smaller bedroom was broken and in the heat was quite uncomfortable to sleep in there without it opening.

The cottages were set in a pretty open courtyard, which was not very good for us as we had a puppy and the listing said it had a patio with furniture but it didnât.
We had no welcome pack, books, dvds which were also listed. We had 2 quite major problems which were put right by the very nice maintenance man. However the overall cleanliness of the cottage was extremely poor. Food on dirty greasy baking trays in the oven, dead flies on the kitchen blind, the expel air in the bathroom was full with dust and dirt. The cottage needs a thorough updating to the standards we have been used to from using Sykes for the last 6 years. Especially kitchen equipment, leaking kettle, burnt out toaster and the microwave was burnt on the grill part and this kept dropping onto the glass turntable. Little things like door handles and toilet roll holders were put on the wrong way, carpet also coming up. All reported to reception when we left and they did say the cleaning company would be contacted. The staff we had dealings with were very helpful and polite.
