Had a wonderful time at Groom cottage.
Itâs a very cute cottage within a complex of cottages. It has all you need and was really well equipped. Susan the owner was lovely, the only problem we had was a broken clothes airer which she replaced immediately. She also provided us with beach chairs and a windbreaker which was fab! The shared pool was brilliant, we used every day, the kids play area was popular with my eldest, but good to know you cannot see the play area from Groom Cottage. The local area is lovely would particularly recommend sandymouth beach ant Tintagel Castle. The cottage is small, the bedrooms are a decent size but living space is small so was a bit of a squeeze for 4 of us. The outside space is very cute with 2 small courtyard style gardens and a front patio. The courtyard gardens are filled with plants and very private which is nice. The front patio is more spacious and less private. The one and only thing I would change would be to add black out roller blinds to the upstairs bedroom windows so you have the option to use them. The south facing light comes in very early in summer, for a lot or people this is no problem but if like me I get woken up by light very easily. But that is the only thing. We had a wonderful stay and we were blessed with amazing weather. Would recommend.

Upon arrival we found that the door handle was hanging off so reported it immediately.
Someone came to look at it and couldnt do it so said he would send his grandad. It was obvious it needed a new lock but my husband helped do a temporary fix. The cottage was absolutely filthy with cobwebs and dead insects everywhere, we mentioned this at the time but nothing was done. I again complained a couple of days later and Someone came and mopped the floor!! Still filth and dead insects on every windowsill. I pulled the bin out to empty it and there was a build up of dirt and debris behind it, very obvious this hadn't been moved in months! I also attempted to vacuum myself but the vacuum cleaner was also filthy and covered in cobwebs. Plates and dishes were chipped and there was no way I was going to use the oven!!! Even the barbecue was broken and disgusting. We had to eat out for every meal as there was no way we could use the pans etc in there. This cost a lot more than we had planned for. The outdoor bbq house was dirty and unuseable with extension cables trailing everywhere. The owner and staff were not very friendly, on checking out the owner was outside reception and totally ignored me. I would definitely not recommend Atlantic Farm to anyone and if this is the standard of properties you use I would not recommend Sykes Cottages either.

A wonderful holiday break, just far enough away from Bude not to have the holiday traffic issues but close enough to jump into the van and head to the beaches with minimum effort.
Short drive into the small village for everything you might need from the CoOp which made this the ideal location for exploring everything the West coast has to offer. The house its self, while on a main road did not suffer with any noise issue from the road and the views from the conservatory across the fields were wonderful. Plenty of space to stretch out and rest in the garden and the owners were extremely helpful in all manner things including cake on the day of arrival and options to roam the fields they own and places to visit. Truly a wonderful little house, little quirky and fun getting to use the Arga system of cooking but got there in the end. Extremely clean and comfortable setting and with everything you need to have a great holiday from pots and pans to potato peeler and coffee pot. A great place for a family with kids who like to roam and run about both on the grounds but also the wider location with plenty to do come sun or even the rain knowing that you can come back and freshen up, chill with a hot chocolate or something stronger and rest. will happily revisit in the future, just need to sort dates out, well recommended the owners, house and location.

Thanks to Lorna and Eric for a warm welcome to their cottage.
Lorna baked a nice cake for our arrival. The cottage was quirky never knowing which way to turn. Cooking on an aga was different but not hard. Fully fitted country style kitchen. We only stayed for one week so didn't feel the need for the washing machine or dishwasher provided. The only downside was the main A39 running passed. It gets busy during the day but reasonably quiet during the night. We slept well. We had the opportunity to walk the fields but unfortunately the weather wasn't very nice. Bude is just 10 minutes down the road with a big Morrisons and the village itself has a Coop and Spa and local pub serving good food. All in all we enjoyed our stay. We have had a lovely week at Dairy Cottage! The cottage is a great size, beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need and the lounge is lovely and cosy. We had a mix of weather but the cottage is perfectly located to go out and explore Bude. On rainy days the swimming pool and games room provided hours of fun. The swimming pool is clean, warm and a great size and we have all loved going in everyday. Our cockerpoo has also been with us for the week and we can't believe how dog friendly everywhere in Bude has been. He has absolutely loved his holiday as have we and we would definitely love to come again. Thank you!
