"It's a new build 2 bed house. Smallish. On a busy residential street. With a really nice enclosed back yard. Well equipped. All electric. Very clean. Beach is 5 mins walk. Good selection of games DVD and books Beadnell is in a good location. Seahouses is 2 miles. Bamburgh 5 miles . Alnwick 10 . Lindusfarne 15 and Berwick 20 However beadnell has one shop very nice. A cafe come restaurant. Again nice . A pub that we didnt use The reason we wouldn't go back where the rules. No muddy boots. Water the plants. Take the bin out on collection day. Use the shower curtain. Most are common sense I hope. Then there was the departure checklist. This listed the end of holiday things. Strip the bed. Empty the dishwasher and replace all pots etc. Empty the bins . Clean the fire? If we wanted to be told to clean we could have saved the money and stayed at home. For the record we have one owner sent us a letter thanking us for how we left her house. It spoilt the atmosphere"

"Lovely, very clean and well positioned for the beach. Well equipped with everything needed for a pleasant and comfortable stay.Complimentary bottle of wine, chocolate bars, flowers and dog treat was a nice touch. On arrival I had received a text from the owner to advise the shower was not working and a plumber was ordering a replacement. This was a little disappointing, however the owner was quick to get it sorted and also gave us a refund. After a few days a new shower had been fitted, having little impact on our lovely break. Can recommend Lewis Fish and Chip shop, the Indian Brassiere and the Golf club in Seahouses, all providing amazing food. The Craster arms in Beadnell also served lovely food, although a bit pricey for certain dishes. Some starters were £9 and £10. Mains from £10."

"The location is great and the beds are very comfortable. However the house itself felt neglected and grubby. The cooker extractor hood did not work. The dishwasher would only close if jammed shut with a broom handle. The toaster was full of charred bread. The dining table was sticky with old food. There was a chopping board in the cupboard covered with dried chicken and blood. The bathroom bin was full from the previous occupants and the floor around it filthy. Additionally, the cottage to which Beach Haven is attached was being renovated and it sounded as though the hammering and drilling were in the room with you. Add intermittent internet to this and you have a house in which you cannot relax and enjoy your holiday."

"We have just returned from a 4 day stay aT the Coastal Retreat in Beadnell. What a fantastic cottage it is, with modern decor and spotlessly clean. Every last detail has been thought of by the owners, from a wii for the children to dvds to watch, a shoe rack and coat stand, a very well equipped kitchen and wood for the wood burner. The welcome packs of treats for the children and wine and chocolates for mum and dad were also very much appreciated. The surrounding area is stunning, with lots of beaches and coastal walks on offer, all without having to drive anywhere. Further afield there is plenty to do too. We will certainly be returning to this gorgeous place!"

"Jimbow is a great place. Very well appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The location, being in such close proximity to the beach is great. The only drawback.. and this is picking holes is that the the shop is a drive or a 40 minute roundtrip walk away... not Jimbow's fault obviously but you should bear it mind if you like getting a morning paper or run out of milk! The owners of Jimbow were excellent, providing a mass of local information.. the postcard sent to our home address was a lovely personalised touch as was the shortbread on arrival, which came in handy whilst we were stumbling about at Cragside..(an absolute must for anyone staying!)"
