"A party of seven adults, we had masses of space in the bedrooms, the kitchen, and the living room - the house could easily cope with more people. The kitchen was one of the best equipped we've ever had.I hope people respect the living room - the leather sofas are better than I've got at home. We didn't use the TV but did make the most of the open fire each night (wood from the local garage was wet and spoiled our first night's attempt) Once we'd got it roaring it was well cosy. The pool we found a little cool (it WAS minus one outside) but the sauna was great - give it at least half an hour to warm up though - we got out of the pool straight into the sauna when it wasn't yet at operating temperature and froze our little cotton socks off.Location is excellent. A short (800m?) walk to the cliff top and a path down slightly to the right to the beach and sea. (We did notice that unfortunately people weren't as zealous about tidying up after their dog as we're used to!). Going the other way are the shops and eateries - we recommend Marco Polo's for Italian. Jane was more than helpful and highly resourceful - when I asked for an axe to cut up the large firewood logs it sounds like she rang round half of her family and half of Bournemouth before coming up trumps.!!Reading through, it sounds like the first half of this review is slightly negative. IT IS NOT MEANT TO BE, THE PLACE IS GREAT.Thank you for a lovely long relaxing refreshing lazy alchoholic weekend"

"Myself and a group of friends stayed Lilac Cottage mid March for a weekend away. Lisa the owner was very accommodating and fantastic at giving information about the local area and places to visit. She couldn't have been more helpful. The house was very well equipped with all the household things you'd need for the weekend. We decided to stay in the first night and have a take out and mini house party. There was plenty of cutlery and plates to go round, the hot tub was an absolute bonus! The second day/night we spent most of our time in Bournemouth town, only a less than 10 minute drive away, with reasonable cab fares.Us girls really enjoyed the comfort and attention to detail in the house, making it a perfect place for a get away. We would absolutely recommend this house for anyone. It was great not to stay in the middle of town as it meant we were able to have peace and quiet but only a short drive away from Bournemouth.Thank you Lisa for making the weekend perfect and really providing so much for us. Me and the girls want to come back!"

"We went away as a group of friends (10 of us) and the house was perfect for what we wanted. The house has enough driveway parking for 5 cars and was located perfectly for everything - quiet road, 5 minute walk to the beach and 5 minute walk to Boscombe high street. The house was HUGE and looked great inside. Huge bedrooms with really comfy beds and plenty of showers and toilets. Two living rooms with a dining table to seat 12 - fantastic! The best stocked kitchen I've seen with dishwasher and excellent range cooker. Plenty of fridge and freezer space for food and drink for 12 people. Hot tub was great - big enough to squeeze in 10! Took a while to warm up but we were there in January and was very cold outside! Garden and BBQ would be great in summer months. Jane and Lisa were great, very helpful and friendly. Overall, Lilac Cottage is a great house for chilling out over a weekend and for access to the beach and Bournemouth if you fancy some fresh sea air!"

"Holme Cottage is great for a gathering of 8 or more. We spent the weekend with our family group of 10 plus a dog, followed by the rest of the week as a group of 8 friends. The house was perfect for both with the cliff path and beaches just a short a walk in one direction and the shops (and a great fish and chip shop) a short walk in the other. We even walked along the seafront to a restaurant in Bournemouth (and back again afterwards). The facilities in the house are excellent with great touches such as a well equipped kitchen (including bowls and cutlery for children and plastic tumblers so drinks can be taken into the hot tub), towels, toilet rolls and boxes of tissues provided and, as well as the games room, a large selection of children's toys, DVDs and CDs for entertainment. Would love to return sometime soon."

"As an extended family of 11 (1-70 yrs), we all had a wonderful week. The location, facilities and comfort were excellent. Lovely big, light bedrooms with very comfortable beds and plenty of storage room. We could have done with more storage room in the kitchen for food (there was masses of equipment though). The hot tub was a big favourite, and the play room was great - so many toys etc! Quick walk to the sea, the park, lovely cafe, local shops and Sainsbury's. Loads to do in Bournemouth and beyond. Jane, the owner, was very friendly, helpful and welcoming. It is a shame that it is so much more expensive during school holidays.Everyone wanted to return next year, but all school holiday dates seem to be booked up. Ah, well.E. Freestone and family"
