"On arrival we had to ring up to ask where the back door key was, no information about the property, there was a folder which was hidden under the tv not on the table where you would expect. As you walked in there was a terrible chemical smell and lots of ant killer everwhere. The main bathroom toilet had not been cleaned and was covered in excrement. There were tiny little flies all over the kitchen which we quickly became covered in and had to spend the first part of our holiday killing. Also there were dead flies in the bath. The upstairs shower door hardly opens as it catches on the ceiling within a couple of feet. Also the water is dangerously hot and could easily burn a child, the setting needs to be altered, this made using the shower difficult due to the lack of space and the burning hot water. On the plus side, the kitchen is large and well equipped (although I couldn't find any egg cups). The garden is a great size and the beds were comfortable. All in all it could be very good with a little more effort on cleanliness and sorting out the above difficulties. The location is pretty remote you have to go a long way to get anywhere with any shops etc."

"The pub is 50 mtrs away and serves lovely food. The cottage contains everything you'll need for a enjoyable experience and is of a very high standard. My only down point was the size of the bathroom sink like a lot of other people, who have made comments in the visitors book, it is only a vanity unit designed for a cloak room not a bathroom (I work in the bathroom industry) it is only a small moan but it still affected both my wife and I.The two sofas did not convert into beds, so I think the accommodation sleeps two adults and two children. A cabinet over the small hand basin was very inconvenient. You try washing your teeth or face! This cottage is in a perfect location, close to walks, cycle routes and local amenities. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable. The owners are very helpful and accommodating. Would defiantly recommend for weekend trips or extended holidays as there is so much to do in the area. We will be visiting again!"

"well what can i say we came home 2 days early, it was mainly the cabin that spoilt our stay. The sofas were in need of a skip i'd say, you just couldn't relax on them because they were broken, the bed in the main bedroom was a four poster and it moved backwards and forwards with the slightest of movement. Upon close examination there were screws in the lats where they have tried to stop this but that hadn't worked. We then resorted to the single beds which were quite comfy, but there is no window to open in the rooms and it got very stuffy and we were both waking up with headaches. For some reason the heating would not turn off with the thermostat, so we had to turn off all the radiators by the time we had done this we'd had enough then the jacuzzi was playing up, the next morning we was off home we could not cope another 2 days. Also if you left any doors open for fresh air the cats make themselves at home. LOVELY!!!!!!!"

"The staff were absolutely lovely and the location was fantastic so we did enjoy our time away. Unfortunately our lodge was not what we expected which was disappointing. It was advertised as a vip lodge but it was quite shabby and in need of updating. It wasn’t worth the money we paid. It was more of a caravan with wood panelling rather than a lodge. The lodges are quite close together so not much privacy. The interior was poor quality - threadbare carpet, marked wallpaper and skirtings, a lot of cobwebs, maintenance carried out without any notice. It just didn’t meet our expectations. It has been raised with woodland lakes for a response but unfortunately they have not replied. It wasn’t necessarily enough to spoil the holiday but it was definitely not value for money."

"This is a comfortable modern property, but it has some real problems.- no barbecue- poor plumbing in under sink area in kitchen; waste disposal unit creates a lot of vibration which caused pipework to fail, resulting in lots of waste water in kitchen, and electrics failure; plumber who came to sort it out was horrified at the quality of the plumbing and the way power points had been installed directly beneath joints in waste piping. A health and safety hazard??? - poor plumbing work in both first floor bathrooms (panel coming away from bath; water from walk in shower spilling onto carpeting )- lighting system in downstairs living area totally confusing- no schedule provided of when different types of waste were being collected- very expensive for what was on offer"
