"We loved staying at Sundance. On our first day, we were welcomed by the friendly owner who lives on the site. She gave us the benefit of her extensive knowledge of the local attractions. The cottage itself was spacious, comfortable and well laid out. The kitchen was fabulous and well-equipped with every cooking-knife, gizmo and coffee-maker (with beans supplied) that you can imagine. There were bowls (glass, ceramic and plastic), tupperwear boxes (for picnics) and all the kit you would need for meals big and large, simple and sophisticated. The hot-tub was lovely when coming home from a hot walk and the swimming pool - ahh so nice and refreshing on a hot day. We were spoilt for choice. The only down side is the road noise from the A30 which runs a few 100 metres away and can be heard with the windows open. However, the upside of our proximity to the road is the speed with which we were able to get out and about. No long drive down narrow, windy roads to get here and there. Ohh and did I happen to mention the pool table, darts room and gym?... We would happily come back here again."

"Hazelnut lodge was an absolutely delightful place to spend a long weekend. The owner could not do enough, providing homemade scones on arrival and issuing a guest book with recommended walks and providing everything you need to know about the local area! The accommodation itself was spotless with a useable kitchen, comfortable lounge and bedroom and modern bathroom with shower. The highlight of this beautiful place was most definitely the garden and terrace! Surrounded by fields and greenary, you could soon forget you were still in the UK! Plenty of setting and space to catch every last ray of sun! Completely dog friendly, not only the accommodation (with dog proof garden) but the grounds (there is a field located next to cottage which you can use to walk your dog too!) And the area itself! We will certainly be back to Hazelnut cottage!"

"Beautiful house, beautifully decorated and expensively furnished (keep your eye on any children!) with luxurious white carpet upstairs (so bring your carpet slippers). Well appointed kitchen and adequate dining space. Outside spaces great for relaxing and front lawn good for recreation. Great location on edge of village with two pubs, two cafes and village shops. Garage with shop over road. Nearest pub does food and the ‘Volunteer’, in the centre of the village, is a lovely village pub with a very welcoming landlord and landlady. They do a quiz on Thursday evenings and will shortly start putting meals on. Great beers and homely welcoming atmosphere. Some lovely walks in village by the river. Beaches a short drive away but beware of traditional narrow and steep-sided Devon lanes leading to them. Car sensors were beeping like mad!"

"The cottage is in an idyllic setting but you do need your own transport as it is several miles to the nearest village. At night there is no traffic noise, and sitting in the fabulous hot tub all you hear is the wind in the trees and the wildlife. The bed was exceedingly comfortable and that combined with the peace and quiet resulted in fantastic quality sleep. In the living room are 2 small armchairs. These are not conducive to cuddling up with your partner and we felt that a small settee would have been better, although I am sure others would like the enforced separation! The hosts are always on hand if there are any issues and nothing is too much trouble. The cream tea on arrival was an added bonus.A perfect getaway if you want time together in a peaceful location."

"The cottage was very cosy but was adequate for our requirements. It was clean and had plenty of equipment/utensils and cleaning materials, so cooking was made easier. There was an expectation from the owner that we cleaned the cottage before we left which I thought was odd. I vacuumed, cleaned the showers and kitchen only for it to be done again when we left.I primarily booked this cottage because the blurb said it had a nature reserve you could walk to which took you down to a river. It sounded idyllic and perfect for walking my dog. However, the reality was different. The owner has a flock of sheep in the reserve so there is sheep mess everywhere. The reserve is very overgrown so walking around it was not particularly enjoyable."
