A limited but excellent selection of stores, taverns, inns, and art galleries can be found in Appledore. Appledore has been a successful fishing and commercial hamlet since the fourteenth century, and the shipyard is still in operation. The picturesque village of Appledore is near to surf beaches and offers a tranquil starting point from which to explore North Devon. The Quay is an important part of village life and is where you may participate in a variety of activities like fishing trips, crabbing competitions, and even Morris dancers.
