What our customers are saying about our Self Catering Holidays In Devon.

"Firstly I would say that the "cottage" was clean and tidy, however our initial and lasting impression was that it was incredibly small and dark. In effect it was not a cottage but a room with a mezzinine floor. The only direct light and ventilation into the lower level was from the front door and if that was open we could hear every word from the neighbour. It's description as a one bedroom property is inaccurate, the bed is on a mezzinine. Open plan is also stretching the point as it is basically a studio, with the daytime facilities cramped into an approximately 13 x 13 foot square space. The only window that could be opened was behind the bed, as the one above the front day was too far from the mezzinine bannister to reach. The view from the door was of a six foot fence and the owners property beyond. The description states "These properties are are situated in 10½ acres of unspoilt natural grounds on the edge of Dartmoor" but there were no instructions about how to access it. There was not even information on where the local supermarket was. The photos on the web site gave the impression of light and space, we felt so claustrophobic that we had to leave after two nights/one day of our one week holiday. The only communication from the owner/staff was when we were leaving despite my trying to make contact during our very short stay. If what you want is just a base from which to explore this may be the place for you but we wanted to relax within the "cottage" surrounds as well and this was not possible."

"We stayed in the property for two weeks between 4th and 18th August with our two children aged almost 4 and almost 2. The cottage was extremely comfortable and the garden is lovely. We enjoyed sitting out in the evenings, listening to the birdsong and watching the sunset. The owner lives next door and was very pleasant. Most of the time we had complete privacy within the cottage which is blissfully quiet, especially at night. The location of the property couldn't have been better. It was a five minute drive from Arlington Court (National Trust) and Exmoor Zoo - both lovely days out. It was a short drive to Combe Martin, Lynton and Lynmouth, Ilfracombe, Woolacombe Beach, the middle of Exmoor. For somewhere very comfortable within easy reach of many attractions of north Devon and Exmoor, we highly recommend this cottage."

"A lovely place tucked away in a quiet village, but only a couple of minutes to get to the main road. The owners are friendly but certainly not intrusive. The village pub which is a short uphill walk away does great food and the people in there are friendly too.Listening to the variety of bird song around here was fantastic and a real treat for a townie like me. It is a good place if you just want to chill in the local area and it is also a good base if you wish to travel further afield."

"The property was immaculate and beautifully clean when we arrived. It was cosy, warm and very welcoming. The beds were comfy and the bedding was beautiful. The owner welcomed us on arrival and provided tea, milk, orange juice and biscuits for our immediate use after our journey. A very thoughtful touch and much appreciated. We had a most enjoyable and restful stay. Thank you all!"

"This is one of the nicest properties we have stopped in. We were so impressed with the comprehensive selection and quality of the kitchen equipment. Such a comfortable bright airy property with wonderful views and so handy for the lovely Instow Beach. We would not hesitate stopping here again, it was first class."
